May - Bob Minton has two meetings with Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun, one in Los Angeles in early May and the other in Boston at the end of May. Minton claims that the purpose of the meetings was to open up a dialogue between the church and its critics, and to see if they would be willing to undertake some reforms of their internal policies, such as the RPF (Minton 8, pages 961-2). Rinder and Rathbun present a settlement agreement covering all the cases and individuals being supported by Minton at that time (Minton 8, page 964). The proposed agreement is dated 27 May 1998 (Minton 14, page 1887).
June/July - Bob Minton has "some meetings" with Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun (Minton 2, page 82). Minton later clarifies that he had the third of three meetings in June/July, in Los Angeles (Minton 8, page 951). The three meetings last a total of 15.5 hours (Minton 8, page 967).

Late Fall (Autumn) - Bob Minton meets Ken Dandar in Dandar's temporary office. There were five people present: Stacy Brooks, Jesse Prince, Bob Minton, Dr. Michael Garko, and Ken Dandar (Minton 2, page 149). Ken Dandar suggests adding David Miscavige to the case as an additional party (Minton 2, page 150). Minton claims not to know about a prior agreement not to add parties, from November 1997 (Minton 2, pages 152-3). Minton claims that only he and Dr. Garko were not in favour of adding David Miscavige to the case (Minton 2, page 155).
Oct/Nov - Lisa McPherson Trust incorporated (Minton 4, page 409) as a for-profit corporation, with the intention to reincorporate as a non- profit (Minton 4, page 443). The LMT is incorporated as a for-profit to prevent the Church of Scientology from finding out, through the annual reporting requirements of a nonprofit, who was giving money to it - this decision is taken by Ken Dandar, Stacy Brooks, Bob Minton, and possibly one other (Minton 4, page 448). The organisation is originally to be named "The Lisa Foundation, Inc.", but that name had already been taken by Benetta Slaughter (Minton 5, pages 610-1). November - Bob Minton signs the contract to purchase the LMT building in Clearwater at a cost of approx. $325,000 (Minton 5, page 618). Minton buys the building because the LMT has problem renting office space in Clearwater (Minton 5, page 619).

1 May - Bob Minton provides a cheque for $500,000, UBS cheque 93G (Minton 6, page 667). Minton claims that Ken Dandar wanted to hide the money from Dr. Garko and Tom Haverty so that he could save money on employee payments. Minton claims that Dandar suggests that he pay the money in such a way that it can't be traced back to him, to hide the source from the Church of Scientology. Minton hands the cheque over at the Bombay Bicycle Club (Minton 6, pages 668-669). Minton uses the same financial institution that he later uses to issue the UBS cheque to Andreas Heldal-Lund (Minton 8, page 1059). Minton claims that Dandar knows that the money is his (Minton 9, page 39).
24 May - Bob Minton deposition. Includes testimony about his agreement with the family and Ken Dandar (Minton 6, page 665). Minton is questioned about how much money he has given to Dandar and hides the fact that he has given a cheque for $500,000, cheque 93G (Minton 6, page 708). This is the second Minton deposition (Minton 7, page 847).

Summer - Dan Leipold and Ford Greene meet with Ken Dandar in Florida to advise on the "religiosity" and "alter ego" issues (Minton 2, page 170).
The meeting takes place in Key West (Minton 3, page 299). The three have a falling-out over the money to be paid for their work on the case (Minton 2, pages 171-2). Ford Greene produces a "sizable" document on the "religiosity issue" (Minton 3, page 298). Jesse Prince is also present at the meeting (Minton 4, page 348).

Minton claims that the agreement is still in place but must be kept secret (Minton 4, pages 427-8). Minton claims that Dandar is concerned that Scientology will use the agreement against the case, so agrees to deny it (Minton 4, pages 430-1). Minton claims that he tells Dandar that the affidavit is false (Minton 5, pages 636-7).
20 Dec - Dell Liebreich swears an affidavit (Minton 4, page 435).

Minton gives Dandar a cheque for $250,000, 93H (Minton 6, pages 703-4).
June - 'The Profit' is shown in Leipzig (Minton 13, page 1699).

24 Aug (approx.) - John Merrett sends an e-mail or letter to Ken Dandar telling him that Bob Minton will not fund the case any further. Minton claims that an Internet smear campaign against him begins shortly afterwards (Minton 4, pages 422-3). Bob Minton instructs John Merrett to send the e-mail, also informing him that Jesse Prince will not testify as an expert witness (Note: I am not sure if these are two separate e- mails). Minton and Stacy Brooks share the decision (Minton 6, pages 726-7)
Late August - Bob Minton spends time in hospital with pneumonia (Minton 7, page 794).

17 Dec - Ken Dandar sends an e-mail to Bob Minton asking for help (Minton 6, page 729). Minton does not respond to the e-mail (Minton 6, page 730).
2002 January - Bob Minton calls Jesse Prince and tells him that he feels suicidal (Minton 9, page 105).
January - Bob Minton pays John Merrett $100,000 on a personal cheque, supposedly as reimbursement for bonds paid by Merrett plus repayment of money owed by Stacy Brooks (Minton 15, pages 1901-2).
10 Jan - Ken Dandar sends a PGP-encrypted e-mail to Bob Minton. The decrypted contents inform Minton that Dandar has booked a room for him at the Nashville Vanderbilt Marriott Hotel. Dandar has previously called Minton to request a meeting in Nashville for him to request more money for the wrongful death case. Minton refuses to go to Nashville (Minton 6, pages 731-3).
Early February - Ken Dandar requests Bob Minton to visit him in the Cayman Islands while Dandar is on vacation there. Dandar wants to request additional funds for the case. Minton refuses to go (Minton 6, pages 737-8).
4 Feb (approx.) - Bob Minton considers settlement discussions with Scientology for the first time. Minton authorises Bruce Howie to contact Wally Pope to offer a settlement. Pope and Rosen call back and say that they are willing to discuss a global settlement only, and offer to meet during the week ending the 22nd of February. Minton wants them to put in writing what they want to discuss, but they refuse and the meeting does not take place (Minton 9, pages 84-6).
14 Feb - Luke Lirot writes a letter to Bob Minton about four clips of 'The Profit' on the LMT web site (Minton 14, pages 1811-2).
February - Ken Dandar travels to meet Bob Minton in New Hampshire for a weekend meeting. Dandar is convinced that he and Minton are being bugged by Scientology (Minton 2, pages 108-9).

23-24 Feb - Ken Dandar and Dr. Garko meet with Bob Minton in New Hampshire (Minton 3, page 328). Minton claims that Dandar has instructed people to wage a smear campaign against him on the Internet (Minton 4, page 422) (Minton 6, pages 742-5) (Minton 9, pages 28-9). Stacy Brooks is also present (Minton 6, page 739). Minton claims that Dandar agreed to stop the criticism of him on the Internet. Minton claims that the criticism stopped as soon as Dandar arrives back in Florida. Minton says that stopping the "smear campaign" was a condition on his donating any more money (Minton 6, pages 745-6). Brooks agrees to take down four clips of 'The Profit' from the LMT web site as part if the deal to stop the "smear campaign" (Minton 14, page 1812).
26 Feb - Bob Minton receives an e-mail with the same attached letter from both Dr. Garko and Ken Dandar. Minton calls it "the suck-up letter"
(Minton 4, page 415). The letter contains the phrase "There are no secret agreements between or among you, me or Dell" (Minton 4, page 423). Minton claims that this conflicts with confirmations that he received from Dandar over the weekend of the 23-24 Feb 2002 (Minton 4, page 424).
26 Feb - Ken Dandar files a motion for protective order and prevent discovery into Dresdner Bank records relating to Bob Minton at the request of Stacy Brooks (Minton 6, pages 687-8).
March - Bob Minton receives a two-page letter, marked confidential, in a package with a telephone encryption device. The letter claimed to be from Rick Spector, Ken Dandar's "video production specialist", and requested Minton to use the device for "future conversations between you and other members of the trial team" (Minton 2, pages 105-7). Ken Dandar obtains a similar device, but due to them being faulty, they are never used when discussing the money (Minton 2, pages 109-10).
6 Mar - Bob Minton and Ken Dandar have a conversation about the "so- called secret agreement" (Minton 4, page 423). Minton again claims that Dandar confirms the secret agreement (Minton 4, pages 424 and 426).
7 Mar - Bob Minton writes the final cheque, 93I (Minton 4, page 425).
Minton waits a few days before sending the cheque, then posts it to Ken Dandar's post office box, in the middle of Caroline Lekteman's LMT contest-winning essay so that it looks like only a stack of documents (Minton 6, pages 756-9). The money for the cheque came from one of the same financial institutions as either the LMT or Operation Clambake UBS cheques (Minton 9, page 40).
15 Mar - Bob Minton and Stacy Brooks discuss the situation. Minton decides that it is time to settle his differences with Scientology (Minton 9, page 88).
16 Mar - Bob Minton calls Mike Rinder in Los Angeles (Minton 9, page 86). Minton tells Rinder that he feels overwhelmed by the litigation and wants to get out of it and settle any outstanding differences. Rinder agrees to call Minton back to discuss it (Minton 9, page 90). Stacy Brooks made the first call to Rinder, then Minton called about three hours later after no response from Rinder (Minton 14, page 1853).
19/20 Mar - Mike Rinder calls Bob Minton and suggests meeting in New York on 28-29 Mar. Rinder requires that Jonas and Rosen create a confidentiality agreement to prevent Minton from mentioning the discussions on the Internet, as happened last time Minton and Rinder met, in 1998 (Minton 9, pages 90-1).
20 Mar - The Church of Scientology requests an out-of-state deposition of Dresdner Bank in Los Angeles. The order is signed on 20 Mar (Minton 10, pages 1315-6).
25/26 Mar - Rosen and Jonas write a letter confirming the confidentiality agreement (Minton 9, page 91). Jonas' letter includes a clause requiring the participants to hide the discussions from the court; "without trying to anticipate all the ways in which this agreement could be violated, it is specifically agreed that the discussions will not be posted on the Internet; will not be inquired into in discovery in any litigation; and will not be revealed in any court papers or to any court." (Minton 10, page 1290). Bruce Howie enforces the confidentiality agreement during the 19 Apr hearing in front of Judge Baird, although the Church of Scientology waived the agreement (Minton 10, pages 1295-6).
28-29 Mar - Bob Minton first meets with the Church of Scientology (Minton 3, page 311). The meetings take place in New York and Minton flies back to New Hampshire afterwards (Minton 3, page 314).
28 Mar - Bob Minton meets with the Church of Scientology. Rosen talks about Larry Wollersheim, Grady Ward, and Gerry Armstrong. Rosen also discusses these cases: the Wollersheim case, the Lisa McPherson case ("the Florida cases"), two cases in France, a libel case in Germany filed by Minton, two cases in Switzerland, and Keith Henson's activities (Minton 8, pages 1036-7). Also present are Mike Rinder, Monique Yingling, Steve Jonas (Minton 8, pages 1039-40). The Swiss cases involve Jean-Luc Barbier suing the Church of Scientology. Minton gave him $25-30,000 and provided assistance from a French lawyer, Michel Pesenti, who Minton paid $250,000 for legal services. Pesenti represented Minton, Stacy Brooks, and Jesse Prince in three libel suits in France (Minton 8, pages 1040-2). The meeting takes place in Rosen's office. Stacy Brooks is also present (Minton 10, page 1286). Minton expects that the settlement negotiations would involve him writing out a cheque to the Church of Scientology, and nothing more (Minton 10, page 1289). Rosen shows Minton a "preview copy" of the lawsuit against Gerry Armstrong, where Minton and Brooks are named as defendants. Minton is also shown a "preview copy" of the counterclaim in the Lisa McPherson case, adding him as a defendant in the counterclaim (Minton 10, pages 1326-7). Rosen also mentions that the Church of Scientology has spent approx. $20,000 on a possible RICO suit (Minton 10, pages 1327-8). Rosen says that the Church of Scientology has spent approx. $34,925,000 on the lawsuits in which Bob Minton is involved (Minton 10, page 1332). Rinder wants to discuss domain names registered to Minton that contain the word 'Scientology', mutual releases (each party agrees not to sue the other after a settlement agreement), and an agreement preventing Minton from funding anti-Scientology litigation (Minton 11, pages 1370-2). The meeting lasts from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. (Minton 11, page 1374). Rinder says that before they can begin settlement talks, Minton and Brooks must travel to Florida and "set the record straight in the wrongful death case and the breach of contract case" (Minton 11, page 1384). Sometime in the afternoon, Rinder says that if Minton and Brooks set the record straight, he thinks that the wrongful death case will be dismissed (Minton 11, page 1391). Minton also asks the Church of Scientology to work out a final agreement with Grady Ward (Minton 11, pages 1403-1404). The Armstrong lawsuit is for a total of $10,050,000 ($50,000 multiplied by 201 infringements) (Minton 11, page 1405). Rinder tells Minton that Ken Dandar has purchased several properties (Minton 12, page 1528): a 200,000-square-foot warehouse in Odessa (Minton 12, pages 1524-5), a holiday home in North Carolina, two homes (one for Dandar and one for his mother) near Odessa or somewhere north of Tampa (Minton 12, page 1525).

29 Mar - Bob Minton calls Ken Dandar and asks him to dismiss the case (Minton 3, page 309). Minton calls from New Hampshire and tells Dandar that "if we continued with this litigation the way we had been, that both of us were going to get destroyed, both Mr. Dandar and me" (Minton 3, page 314). Minton claims that he has to travel to Florida to "tell the truth" about the cheques. Minton claims that Dandar replied "You can't tell about these checks. I haven't reported them to the court"
(Minton 3, page 315). Minton claims that Dandar told him that he had "discussed it with Dell Liebreich and there was no way they were going to dismiss the case". Minton tells Dandar that the blood of his wife and children would be on Dandar's hands if he does not dismiss the case (Minton 3, page 316). Minton claims that Dandar does not want him to disclose anything about the two UBS cheques, 93G and 93I (Minton 3, page 321). Dandar offers to meet Minton and Stacy Brooks in Ohio on the following Wednesday, 3 Apr, to discuss the issues (Minton 3, pages 322-3).
30 Mar - Bob Minton calls Ken Dandar and again asks him to dismiss the case. When Dandar refuses, Minton asked him for the $250,000, cheque 93I, back (Minton 3, page 322). Dandar retracts his offer of a meeting (Minton 3, pages 326-7). Stacy Brooks also participates in the call, accusing Dandar of lying to Minton (Minton 3, page 327).
30 Mar - Ken Dandar sends Bob Minton a letter by e-mail (Minton 11, page 1407).

Minton tells Rinder and Yingling about the UBS cheques 93G and 93I (Minton 11, page 1473), the meeting to add David Miscavige as a defendant (Minton 11, pages 1479-80), and the "secret" agreement between Minton and the estate (Minton 11, pages 1481-4).
8 Apr - Bob Minton deposition taken by Rosen in the "breach case"
(Minton 3, Page 324). Judge Schaeffer notices that Rosen is much more polite to Minton than he was in the October 2001 deposition (Minton 9, page 48). The deposition is supposed to continue at Wally Pope's office after the 9 Apr hearing, but Minton does not show up and claims that no- one informed him of the continuation (Minton 10, page 1298). During the deposition, Rosen gives Ken Dandar and his brother, Tom, a motion to disqualify the two of them and their law firm from the case (Minton 10, page 1299).

Minton claims that Garko told him that he confronted Ken Dandar about the cheques in the parking lot, because Dandar has not paid Garko for eight months, claiming lack of money (Minton 12, pages 1582-3). The meeting lasts for approx. 3 hours (Minton 12, pages 1586-7).

The letter tells Dandar that Stacy Brooks told Leipold that she and Bob Minton are attempting to settle with Scientology and to do that they need to withdraw her declaration and the declaration of Jesse Prince from the Wollersheim case (Minton 8, page 1014). Minton claims that Wollersheim does not want to settle his case with Scientology because there is no financial benefit to him - the amount of legal fees and loan interest required to fund the case over 20+ years now exceeds the amount of the judgment (Minton 8, pages 1016-7).

Notes
'The Profit' - produced by Courage Productions (50% owned by Peter Alexander and 50% owned by Bob Minton) (Minton 1, page 62). Minton gives approx. $2.5 million to fund the film. One of the cheques is a UBS cheque for $500,000. Minton pays approx. $2 million of the $2.5 million via UBS cheques (Minton 6, pages 714-5). Minton gives copies of the cheques to the Church of Scientology (Minton 9, page 79). Peter Alexander pays $100 towards the costs (Minton 14, page 1808).
Ann Carlson and Lee Skelton are Dell Liebreich's sisters. These 3 + one other, are the beneficiaries of the estate (Minton 2, page 73).
Special master to hold LMT phone records from Verizon and Nextel - Michael Keane (Minton 2, page 138).
$500,000 that came into LMT from the German bank (Minton 6, page 751).
Could be Dresdner Bank? (Minton 9, page 82). This turns out to be an anonymous wire transfer to the LMT account at Bank of America (Minton 9, pages 97-8), transferred by Dresdner (?) Bank, New York, by order of Dresdner Bank, Switzerland (Minton 9, page 105).
Minton gives $75,000 to Ursula Caberta, an official of the State of Hamburg in Germany (Minton 8, page 987).

Bob Minton states that he uses more than one financial institution to have the UBS cheques issued (Minton 8, page 1059).
