Now when I posted here about that first ad, I had worded it in such a way so as to suggest that the ad was only going to run one time. The follow-up posts to my post were perfect in that they also seemed to imply that the ad was only running one time.
The ad has finally stopped running now.
The ads ran unchallenged. I know this, I would have heard if the cult had complained about them. Or if they had tried to remove them, or if they had actually had them removed. Well I knew they were not removed because they were in that paper every week.
Anyway... I am guessing that the members here in Vegas would have seen the ads, BUT, because I was not posting about the ads, the members here did not have to do anything about it, or even try to do anything about it. This will now change of course.
From this time on, the members here will have to watch for these XENU ads, and report them up-lines, and maybe try to have them taken down.
I'll be sending all the issues of that paper that contained these ads to the Buffalo House Of Worship, or to the Tottenham Court Road org, I haven't decided yet who will get them. But some org is going to get them, that org will send them somewhere else, Florida or LA. And then the word will for sure come down to the local orgs here, to watch for, and stop these ads when they appear.
And now a message for the Church Of Scientology in Las Vegas:
Monkeys, you know there are a lot papers to advertise in for a few dollars only here in Vegas. You have no choice now but to keep up on all of them, and find the ad before I post about it here on ars. And you can be sure more ads, or at least one more ad is coming.
Now the way I see it is this - your attention spans might hold up for a full six weeks on this, after that your typical slop will once again surface and you won't be checking the papers for the ad(s).
So I'm not going to place any ads for 6 weeks while you waste your time looking for them. Once you've stopped looking, I'll place one, and get you to looking all over again.
However, I have proven in the past that I am willing and capable of bluffing. So you will really have to figure out what is.........
Meantime, every Friday I would go get a copy of this Nifty Nickel.
And every time I saw the ad there I would smile a big smile, it had made it another week. Oh it is fun to profile and posture on ars, but this was a real advertising blitz. Between the batch run by the lurker, and the follow up ads I ran, a large span of time was covered.
We won't know, we will never know if the ads we ran did any good at all. If they kept even one person from getting involved. But maybe they did, maybe they even saved a few people money and grief.
If anyone is inspired to run this type of ad in their own cities, I suggest you do as we did here. Do not mention the ads until the newspapers are off the shelf and gone.
Looking good on ars is nice, but quietly and humbly doing something to keep people from getting involved is even better.

I shall leave this webbed for a few weeks.
