I was privlidged to be present at Ursula Caberta's conference and had the opportunity to spend some time with her.

July 25, 2000 will be a day that I will remember for a very long time. The insanity of the scientologists did not end with the spectacle they preformed at the Tampa airport. Like me, Ms Caberta is a smoker, and the LMT being a smoke free building required that we step outside to smoke. Numerous times during the day Ms. Caberta asked me if I would mind accompanying her outside on the doorstep to have a cigarette. She was concerned for her safety, inspite of the fact that the LMT had numerous uniformed police officers present outside the building providing security.

As it turned out, Ms Caberta's fears were not unfounded. Dennis Clark(e), local head of the scientolgy front group CCHR was observed lurking on the upper floor of a parking garage directly outside the back entrance of the LMT. When "M", an employee of TFC, was sent up to investigate. He was assaulted by Mr Clark, and charges against him are still pending. Shortly after this, Kendrick Moxon made the first of several of his appearances that day in his frantic efforts to stop the press conference in any way that he could. Mr. Moxons first attempt was unfortunately directed personally to Ms Caberta, as she and I were outside smoking. Mr. Moxon approached Ms. Caberta and began to threaten her with "contempt of court" charges if she did not IMMEDIATELY come to a deposition with him.

This was only the first of several "stunts" by Mr. Moxon that day which later included actually throwing several manilla envelopes, that he claimed were "legal papers", at the back door of the LMT. Mr Moxon is apparently as inept at process service as he appears to me to be at other matters of jurisprudence.

Regrettably, the "Moxon Antics" did not end there, as he later not once, but twice, invaded a private luncheon for participants of the conference at a local restaurant to harass Ms Caberta. During his 2nd invasion of the luncheon he was accompanied by a man who I believe was Herr Blumel, attorney for Co$ Germany. This man made a brief statement to Ms Caberta, which was essentially just a repetition in german, of Mr Moxons words.

Mr Moxon's 2nd invasion of the luncheon with the man presumed to be Herr Blumel was also photographed by "TFCVP", and I would like very much to see this picture in the hands of the german press.

(Are you listening Der Speigel or Stern????) All throughout this very bizzare and surreal day, Ms Caberta, although visibly stressed and concerned, retained an air of professionalism and unusual warmth.

To say that I was embarrased for my community and my country at the way in which she was treated by our local brand of psychopathic sceinos, is an understatement. More sadly, Ms Caberta cut her visit to Clearwater short and returned to Germany in fear of her safety. One can only imagine the damage scientology has done to German tourism to Florida and the way in which others regard this community.

On behalf of myself and all residents of this area, I offer my sincere apologies to Ms Caberta and to all German citizens for the insanity of Co$ that has been allowed to run rampant in this community to the point that visitors feel compelled to flee for their safety.
