Yes, I and others have written of this before. I knew Yvonne BH, before Heber.
She ran the orignal Celebrity Centre and Heber was an out of work folksinger-actor hanging around there. Yvonne was a favorite of the Commodores...until she got to popular within the cult.
She got cancer...a big no-no. One didn't get cancer in scientology as this was a big invalidation of 'Source'... the Commodore.
Neither Hubbard nor the 'Church' would put out a dime for medical treatment and Yvonne finally put out a statement which said that, ' it would take to much auditing to correct her situation and she had decided to drop this body so that she could pick up a new one to continue her path up the 'Bridge'. She was sent off to Clearwater, I believe, to die. Her name was seldom mention within scientology after that.
This, sadly, is the standard way that scientology treats staff members. If you get old and/or sick will will get off-loaded and cast away with so many others.

In 1976-77 I was working with Yvonne Jentsch in the CB building in Clearwater, in the LRH Communicator Network spaces. We knew each-other pretty well as artist(me) and Celebrity Centre Int ED (Yvonne). I was doing some calligraphy for special Dept21 display boards for LRH, and she was doing admin work for him.
She was not doing well physically, but she would never talk about it. You know, you are not supposed to talk about your case etc...
She was being C/S'd (her folders) by LRH himself, but in nthe end she died of cancer. She was one of the nicest people I ever met. A true person and a loving friend.
That's how I shall always remember her.
By the way, she was working a little on the Snow White project at the time, and I remember Fred Hare coming in a lot, and explaining it to us privately. He omitted, however, to tell us about the government infiltration that Snow White Project was doing, which then led to the criminal conviction and imprisonment of 11 senior Execs including Mary Sue Hubbard.
Hope this helps.
