Scientology International's PR man Heber Jentzsch has claimed Scientology has 8 million members. (Listen to "warrior.mov" at http://www.geocities.com/edmontonentheta/seeker/ ) Heber's statements to this effect support at least one truth about the way Scientology management views Scientology organizations:

that they are all unified as one group, sharing common goals, and that this group of persons is subject to control ultimately by the same group of persons. Obviously I am excluding those persons who do not pay money to Scientology, as these types of "practitioners" are seen as "squirrels" or "apostates" or of a "splinter group", etc. As such, in the eyes of Scientology organizations, these are not seen as true members. They are not eligible for services at any group which falls under the corporate control of the Scientology network of corporations.

The truth about Scientology's membership is that the definition of member has been redefined, unsurprisingly in accordance with HCO Policy Letter of 5 October 1971 "Public Relations Series 12 - Propaganda by Redefinition of Words", where Hubbard teaches:

"The trick is - Words are redefined to mean something else to the advantage of the propagandist."

The truth be known, "member" has been given a specialized definition commonly understood amongst certain persons at the "Exec Strata"

Trying to get Heber to address only this one aspect (of "members") is an exercize in futility. Why? Because, sadly, he has to continue to push the lie that Scientology is expanding, in order to put on a good face.

And that is what Scientology is all about: deception and delusion.
