Now that the Buffalo scene is in complete ruins, Scientology has
decided that Phoenix, Arizona will be the next site of concentrated
expansion and footbulleting efforts. See the announcement below.
No wonder Scientology hates the Internet.

================================================================
Dear Scientologist,
As many of you probably understand from Chairman of the Board's closing statements at the 2005 New Years event, it is time to get busy.
Every one of us needs to be doing everything we can to forward Scientology's expansion and to make planetary clearing a reality.
The Phoenix Org area will be a massive generation point for able Scientologists who will create a new civilization.
The simple and factual view is this: We have in our hands the means and ability to clear a planet. But the task is great, and to meet it we'll need more players on the team.
Sure, it's sometimes tough. This is a tough planet. Give us a hand, and with enough hands, it won't be.
Joining staff is the sensible thing to do. It's your best and only real chance for true, lasting spiritual freedom.
Best,
Lerey Bishop

From my vantage point here in Phoenix, I don't see any growth, though of course I'm looking from the outside. They just moved from their leased building in Mesa to an office complex in Phoenix. I consider this a move down because they are practically invisible in their new place and I'm sure the complex doesn't allow "now hiring" sandwich boards and such. Now they were supposed to be purchasing a $2 million building on 24th St. in Phoenix, and it's a nice newish building that's now holding several medically related businesses. I don't know what happened to that deal but the building is still listed for sale.
When I first moved here in 1981 there were 2 Scientology orgs or missions, one right in downtown Phoenix. Now there is one, and I don't offer much hope for any big expansion here. They do have at least one OT VIII, Joan Ryan, and of course Russell Shaw, who had perhaps the first dead-agenting web site ever.
