I have found that most PI's working for Scientology are not themselves Scientologists, although they do seem to have the same redefined view of "ethics" and "law."

And yes, Scientology PI's AND process servers do tend to get agitated and even violent when photographed. I recently was battered by a process server that I videotaped as he served Bob Minton with a subpoena (see Belleair FL Police case# 00-13881). It admittedly wasn't an extreme case like when Clark punched me twice in the stomach, but it shows their temperament. This process server, David G. Ovard, first threatened to break my camera if I didn't stop taping him, then he hit my right arm, in an evident attempt to knock the camera out of my hand.

He followed that up with a flash of an ID card and the statement that he was "with the Sheriff's Office."

I followed up with a complaint to the supervisor of process servers at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, but found that they are relatively powerless to address this issue, as their only concern is whether the papers were properly served. They said that this matter was up to the police and the State Attorney. So my videotape, as well as another angle captured by Jeff Jacobsen, is now on its way to the SAO for review. I wonder how many times the report and tapes will be misplaced along the way?
