Let me begin by stating that I have no membership in any group, so in no way
am I in any position to bring anyone "under control". Additionally, I do not
consider your above propaganda to have any basis in fact, nor do I share your
feigned, paranoiac mindest that any LMT staff member, a.r.s. poster or critic
of Scientology poses any threat of violence whatsoever to Scientology or
Scien-tologists. If you are of the opinion that there are one or more
individuals who pose a threat of violence, please state his or her name(s). Your use of
the vague generality of "critics" makes your allegation (as I am sure you
intended) impossible to address. And I ~do not~ wish to "dub in" just who it
is exactly that your "open letter" refers to.
Secondly, I disagree with your characterization of a "rising hysteria" amongst "critics", unless of course you are referring to *Scientologists* who post to this newsgroup as critics of persons who protest by writing or by picketing, or through other non-violent means, Scientology's abuses, deception, crimes, civil rights violations, etc. If by some chance you are speaking of Scientol-ogists who have a "rising hysteria", I submit to you that *management* of your organization obviously is eager to attempt to portray (or "mock up") critics as "dangerous" or as "posing a threat", solely in furtherance of the fair game doctrine. The recent and ongoing programmed operation being carried out against Keith Henson is a prime example of fair game at its insidious and sinister intent.
Third, I find your statement, "It is not unreasonable to conclude that this rising hysteria may fuel violence..." to be completely illogical an assumption since there has been no documentation given to support your premise of the existence of any "rising hysteria". Again, please excuse any misunderstanding on my part if you are referrring to Scientology's agents who, with premeditated thought, feign fear in an attempt to "handle" critics. If this is the case of which you speak, then I do agree with you -- Scientologists are known to be quite hysterical due to the fact that they have been implanted with Hubbard's neurotic fears of those labelled "enemies", or alternatively, they are under insane orders from OSA and/or David Miscavige to "terminatedly handle" persons named as "enemies" by your cult's leaders.
Fourth, your statement that the "rising hysteria may fuel violence due in large part to recent failures by critics to impose their self created dogmatic dictates upon the Scientology religion and its adherents" is, at best, exemplary of Scientology's group-think spew repeatedly espoused by Hubbard, i.e., a mentality best defined as "anyone-who-criticizes-Scientology- is-an-evil-suppressive-person-who-deserves-to-be-ruined-utterly-for-the-good- of-Scientology". *That* is the true hysteria -- the contagion of insanity -- once mandated by your dictator, L. Ron Hubbard, and now screamed by your cult's leader David Miscavige.
Fifth, please specify exactly ~who~ you are referring to in your "church" that is of the delusional opinion that the "increased hysteria partly evidenced by proportionate increasing brutal rhetoric is of great concern to the security of individual Scientologists and their Churches." Are you an official spokes-person for your organization? If so, could you please state your job title?
Are you acting on orders issued or approved by David Miscavige, Mike Rinder, or perhaps another OSA staff?
Sixth, stating that "We believe our concern is real and therefore we appeal to you, collectively, to bring your violent members under control to the fullest extent possible and so that no Scientology members or Churches are harmed" is again (by your use of the term "we") used by you to be taken as if you are an official spokesperson or representative of your collective membership. Your _imagined_ (or "postulated") reality that there is an "increased threat of violence" is an opinion or alleged observation held by whom, exactly? Please specify for whom you speak by your use of the word "we".
According to Scientology's policies on "ethics", it is a "crime" to merely criticize Scientology publicly. Further, step three of the "doubt condition formula" states that the individual applying the "formula" should "[d]ecide [whether or not Scientology] should be attacked, harmed or suppressed...".
You must then admit that mere criticism of your cult "harms" it. How odd it is that your organization is so "serfac'y" that it will not tolerate criticism from non-members. If your cult's leaders applied Hubbard's dogma that Scientology (the group) has been "pulling in" criticism because of "overts"
committed, then perhaps you might care to urge your cult's leaders to take responsibility for Scientology's crimes in the hope that you could stop receiving "motivators" for your abhorrent behavior. I believe that if your cult does not come clean to the "wogs" *and* take responsibility for the damage done to so many, and if your cult's leaders will not start acting in a decent manner, then ultimately this will bring about the demise of your capitalistic, totalitarian machine known as Scientology.
As long as Scientology (as an organization) continues its course of abuse, deception and fraud, there will be outspoken voices who continue to document the same. As long as your organization continues to refuse to take responsibility for its own self-created condition, there will be valid criticism levelled at it.
But I don't really think your leaders are capable of admitting any wrongdoing.
And that's really the saddest part of all...
