It must have felt hard for "the Board of Directors, Churches of Scientology" when they had to write a disclaimer like this (it can be found in the beginning of every scn-book, at least in those printed in the early 80's):

"...the church[sic] does not wish to accept individuals who desire treatment of physical illness or insanity but refers these to qualified specialists of other organizations who deal in these matters."
