As yet no one has posted the most fundamental and obvious reason why one should picket and protest Scientology Inc.: it is one's civic duty to do so. Scientology Inc. preys upon society and returns nothing.

1) Scientology Inc. hurts society by its failure to pay taxes even as it rakes in tens of millions of dollars every year (one article in the late 1980s gave a figure of $200,000,000 a year).

2) Scientology Inc. hurts society by its forcing people out of the tax base; this is done by:

2a) Making its victims work long and hard at little or no pay, of which no taxes are paid to the state.

2b) Removing those victims from jobs where they are socially and economically productive.

2c) Removing those victims from jobs that generate taxible income.

2d) In very rare cases, inducing people to kill themselves, thus removing those people from the possibility of being productive.

2e) In even rarer cases, killing their victims outright.

2f) Removing a large number of expresive taxible properties from the tax base, even though every one of those properties are used to generate huge profits for the business.

3) Scientology Inc. hurts society by its taking liberal, progressive individuals away from tasks and organizations that legitimately and honestly work to improve society, such as the American Civil Liberties Union; United Way; Toys for Tots; Food not Bombs; Doctors without Borders; and hundreds of other such organizations.

4) Scientology Inc. hurts society by creating psychotics, neurotics, and perhaps schizophrenics, of which society must then deal with. One example is Koos, who was driven insane by Scientology "tech" and aparently killed someone.

5) Scientology Inc. hurts society by its trying to destroy legitimate, helpful, fundamentally-needed mental health services, with no reason other than that the Scientology crime syndicate considers valid mental health providers to be competitors.

6) Scientology Inc. hurts society by its relentless attacking of decent, compassionate, caring individuals by suing those individuals with bogus complaints.

7) Scientology Inc. hurts society by framing people for crimes that did not occur, and / or those people did not commit.

8) Scientology Inc. hurts society by burdening the justice system with fraudulent complaints.

One could validly list many more reasons why a person should picket and protest Scientology Inc. They all boil down to the fact that Scientology Inc. hurts people.
