Dear Mrs. Cohee, When I wrote to your office previously to request a refund of my IAS lifetime membership I received a denial of my request. I had paid at least $2,000 U.S. for a lifetime membership, and monies also to help pay for the offshore IAS unit on the Freewinds ship which I have visited on numerous occasions.
I had paid for a membership and donated to the Freewinds purchase at the time fully believing and trusting that the IAS would conduct itself as an ethical group within the framework of a respect for human rights, the laws of the land and common decency. I have since found that such has not been the case.
Indeed, I have been personally subjected to the procedure of "Fair Game" on numerous occasions while pursuing my US Constitutional right to Equal Justice Under The Law by outlaw hirelings using funds of of the very IAS of which I have been a lifetime member!
Clearly, this is an unacceptable situation.
I have also learned that the IAS has engaged in projects of harrassment, personal attacks and illegal operations against many individuals. This kind of behaviour is against my most deepseated personal beliefs.
I do not wish to either remain as a member of the IAS nor continue to support it with any of my funds I paid in.
Recently I have observed on the internet that several members received their refunds (Tory Bezazian, Tom Padgett, Greg Barnes, Ed Hattaway), to mention a few. The Release and waiver they signed, with an additional proviso that I would release, by receiving my refund, no other Scientology-related entity or entities other than the IAS would be acceptable to me. I have matters to be pursued with some of those other entities so would not accept a restriction on my options in those fields of litigation or criminal procedures.
I am hereby asking you to refund immediately the amounts I paid in for IAS membership and any other donation I may have made (purchase of Freewinds ship that houses an IAS offshore HQ, etc...).
You may email me the Release and waiver to karethian@aol.com and I will print it out and sign it if it meets my above requirements.
In the event that you still refuse to refund my monies please be advised that as a lifetime member I will immediately request copies of all IAS projects, plans, orders, valuable final products and meeting minutes etc....that have been engaged-in or activated since I became a member, as I believe I want to know what the IAS has been doing, with accuracy, with my funds and membership support.
I am sure you can understand that I wish to separate and distance myself fully and completely from the illegal, intimidating or even other overtly or covertly "terroristic" affairs of the IAS.
Yours sincerely, Michael P. Pattinson.
