[Scientology: A Cult Quiz]
A Cult Quiz
Good evening, and welcome to the Heritage of Faith. I want to share a
very important message tonight I am calling "A CULT QUIZ."
First, I would like to share a quote I have come across from one of the greatest preachers the world has ever known, C.H. Spurgeon. Spurgeon was an unashamed Baptist who ministered in the last half of the 1800Ęs in London, England. To those of you who do not understand what a Baptist is, I would like for you to hear this quote out:
"We believe that the Baptists are the original Christians. We did not commence our existence at the Reformation, we were reformers before Luther or Calvin were born; we never came from the Church of Rome, for we were never in it, but we have an unbroken line up to the Apostles themselves. We have always existed from the very days of Christ, and our principles, sometimes veiled and forgotten, like a river which may travel underground for a little season, have always had honest and holy adherents. Persecuted alike by Romanists and Protestants of almost every sect, yet there has never existed a government holding Baptist principles which persecuted others; nor, I believe, any body of Baptists ever held it to be right to pur the consciences of others under the control of man. We have ever been ready to suffer, as our martyrologies will prove, but we are not ready to accept any help from the State, to prostitute the purity of the Bride of Christ to any alliance with Government, and we will never make the Church, although the Queen, the despot over the consciences of men."
Let me invite you to our church this week. We are a simple Bible believing New Testament Baptist Church. We meet at the Village Community School, 272 W. Tenth Street, between Greenwich Street and Washington Street.
I would like to give you a cult quiz tonight:
1. Question Number 1: Which cult teaches that Jesus was not a holy person but a pedophile, that is one who views child pornography?
Answer: Scientology, the false, despicable, diabolical cult founded by L. Ron Hubbard!
Jesus Christ is the Holy, Sinless, Pure and Spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. What blasphemy to say this of our sinless Lord Jesus Christ who did all things well and did nothing but good.
Listen to what the Word of God says:
Paul's testimony of Jesus: He KNEW NO SIN: For he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor.5:21 Peter's testimony of Jesus: He DID NO SIN: Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. Peter: 1:21,22 John's testimony of Jesus: IN HIM IS NO SIN. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. 1 John 3:5 2. Question Number 2: Which cult charges over $270,000 for their counseling courses from start to finish? Answer: Scientology!
I say to you, come ye to Jesus Christ and receive His FREE GRACE.
Cleansing from sin is free! Jesus Christ paid the price for all your sin so you can inherit eternal life!
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Rom. 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
3. Question Number 3: Which cult counseled one of its high ranking member's wife to have an abortion so that it would not interfere with their "ministry?"
Answer: Scientology! The Bible clearly teaches that life begins at conception. Read Psalm 139 which describes the development of life within the womb as God's miracle.
Psalm 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
What kind of so-called church could ever counsel the death of the unborn?
4. Question Number 4: Which cult has been indicted on criminal neglect and practicing medicine without a license in the 1995 tragic death of Lisa McPherson?
Answer: Scientology! They have tried to cover up many things about the tragic death of Lisa McPherson in what is called the Homicide Hotel by the critics of Scientology in their headquarters in Clearwater, FL.
5. Question Number 5: Which cult leaders wife along with eleven others were convicted in 1980 of breaking and entering and stealing government documents?
Answer: Can you guess? Yes, you got it, Scientology! (Mary Sue Hubbard, wife of L. Ron along with 11 other Scientologists) What about Thou shalt not steal?
6. Question Number 6: Which cult coerces members and former members into silence by threat of lawsuit? The Answer? Scientology again.
7. Question Number 7: Which cult teaches you can catch pneumonia and die if you are prematurely exposed to upper level materials without first taking many hours of preparatory classes? Answer: I know the answers are getting boring now, but I will tell you again, Scientology!
Avoid the errors and dangers of this false cult and read the Bible which is truth. Thy word is truth, Jesus said, and when we know the truth, the truth shall make you free. Scientology is a cult of deception and lies, and Revelation 21:8 says that "all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
8. Question Number 8: Which cult leader pleaded guilty of theft, was found guilty of fraud in France and was relieved of command of a Naval ship because of violating Navy rules? Answer: L. Ron Hubbard, the strange founder of Scientology.
Paul says, Be not deceived, neither thieves nor covetous nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor.6:9 Which cult founder has said, Make money, make money, make more money?"
L. Ron Hubbard 9. Question Number 9: Which cult was featured in a cover story in Time magazine as a Cult of Greed? The answer? Right again, Scientology!
Yes, the love of money is the root of all evil, and the sin of covetousness runs like a deadly vine through every other sin that man commits. Man murders, commits adultery, lies, and worship other gods for the love of money. Remember God's Word that says, And they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1 Tim.6:9 10. Question Number 10: Which cult uses media stars like John Travolta, Tom Cruise and others to endorse their false religion and at the same time lucratively compensate them for it? Scientology.
(John Travolta recently made a movie from a L. Ron Hubbard book that was a bore and a bomb, even by Hollywood's standards!) Although God is no respecter of persons, Scientology isn't. They love the rich and the famous in order to dupe weak minded individuals who fall all over their rock and movie stars in order to be just like them.
At the cost of thousands of dollars, Scientology used their own members as slave labor to plow a field and plant wheat grass in order that Cruise could fulfill some silly fantasy he had of running with Nicole Kidman through it.
I am saying all of this to expose this Scientology as a very dangerous cult. If you know anyone in scientology, warn them. Look up the information on the internet, at "watchman.org or factnet.org."
They go after big name stars to lure others into its dangerous doors.
Scientology has faced charges of initiation related suicides, strange deaths like that of Lisa McPherson, coerced abortions, and attacks on free speech. I spoke out against Scientology last year and received a call threatening me of a lawsuit, and I would not be surprised if I receive another tonight. They are a cult with a lot of money with such people like John Travolta and Tom Cruise on their side, although it is also rumored they would like to get out but it is not that easy once you are inside. Time magazine well stated that "the church of Scientology is a hugely profitable global racket that survives by intimidating members and cities in Mafia like mannerąScientology is quite likely the most ruthless, the most classicly terroristic, the most litigious, and the most lucrative cult the country has ever seen."
They seem to be a harmless religion with some counseling, but I am here to warn you tonight that they are anything but harmless.
If you need help in getting out of this cult, call us tonight.
Let me invite you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our nation needs to turn to God and LIVE for God. Come to Christ. John the Baptist preached, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. The Bible teaches that we have sinned against God. There is not a just man that doeth good upon the earth, no there is not one righteous, no, not one. Not one man on the face of the earth is without excuse, whether the pagan in some remote tribe in Papua New Guinea or the tax accountant on wall street. God has given all are given a conscience with God's law written in our heart. God has revealed His person and power by the creation of the world:
Romans 1:18 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
So, you must confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead. The Good News is God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. Call upon the name of the Lord and thou shalt be saved! But as many as received Him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
And God beckons you to come to Him. The Spirit and the bride say, Come.
And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come.
And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
"The court record is replete with evidence that Scientology is nothing in reality but a vast enterprise to extract the maximum amount of money from its adepts by pseudo scientific theories... and to exercise a kind of blackmail against persons who do not wish to continue with their sect... The organization clearly is schizophrenic and paranoid, and this bizarre combination seems to be a reflection of its founder, L.Ron Hubbard."Judge Paul Breckenridge, Los Angeles Superior Court
