I won't speak for Zinj, but for myself.
I showed up here AFTER OSA, in its mighty OT wisdom, thought that attacking the messenger would eliminate the message. (Look up "penet.fi" on your favorite search engine.) Soon I saw them act on the delusion that assaulting a newsgroup would quiet it down. In the time I've been here, I've seen people sued for fair-use quoting, attempts to remove this group from usenet, attempts to shout down any discussion in this group, and now attempts to frame posters on really shaky grounds. From where I sit, it does not look like scientology wants to play, but to ban the game, or least to destroy the scoreboard so that it cannot be seen how badly they are losing.
And that, alas for them, just does not work.
And if letting them know this over and over, as forcefully as seems necessary to state, is rude, well, <shrug> I'm willing to be rude. I am not willing to be a silent victim of the kind of bullying that seems to be the only response the mighty OTs of organized $cientology can make to honest disagreement.
How weak, pathetic, and humanly sad! And yet, at the same time, how disgusting, and how inhumane.... I believe it would be wrong to watch this happen without offering my strongest objection, even at the tragic thought that someone might find me rude for saying, "It just won't work, and you can take that to the bank, or shove it up your ass, and it still won't work."
