SCIENTOLOGIST LAURA VANNOY PADGETT VS THOMAS C. PADGETT The writer of this letter is an Oklahoman who seeks to make you and the good people of Kentucky aware of an ongoing abuse of the Kentucky Judicial System which is reminiscent of the civil rights abuses in the South during the 20th Century.

The Church of Scientology and Scientologist Laura Vannoy Padgett have been seeking for over eight long year to destroy a Massachusetts man, Thomas C. Padgett. Why? The Church of Scientology is following the doctrine of its inventor, science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard, which is known as "Fair Game:.

FAIR GAME: "May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."

And what are the crimees of Tom Padgett that he deserves such treatment by a "church"? Tom Padgett has fought a long, courageous battle trying to keep his children from becoming victims of Scientology. Tom Padgett is also fighting a battle for freedom of speech so that people like you and me will not be kept in a state of ignorance about the policies and practices of this sci-fi religion. Tom Padgett has refused to go quietly into that dark night of silence as so many victims of Scientology, before and since, have done. So now, according to "church" doctrine, Tom Padgett must be ruined "utterly".

What has the Church of Scientology done to Tom Padgett in the almost nine years since this nightmare began? Due to several forms of harassment, including anonymous letters, phone calls, character assassinations and private iinvestigators, Tom Padgett lost his job with an international hotel chain where he had been an executive for over a decade and was making a six figure salary.

Due to the continuation of the harassment, Tom Padgett was unable to get a job with any other hotel chain, a job for which he is well qualified.

Today he makes a mere pittance of his former salary.

Laura Vannoy Padgett has Scientology lawyers while Tom Padgett has spent over $100,000 on attorney fees. That's one of the reasons why the claims of the Church of Scientology and Scientologist Laura Vannoy Padgett are so ridiculous. Would anyone endure nine years of harassment, the loss of jobs in his chosen profession and spend that much money just to get out of paying child support for children he loves?

But more important than the loss of money and jobs denied, is the loss of his children. Due to Scientology's "Disconnection Policy", which forces members to throw away families and friends who disagree with the polcies and practices of Scientology, Tom's family had not seen Tom's children since 1993, until Christmas, 2000. Tom's mother, the childen's grandmother, when she passed away three years ago, had not seen her grandchildren for four years. The children have also had limited contact with their father. Now the Church of Scientology and Scientologist Laura Vannoy Padgett seek to get Tom Padgett put in prison for five years because he refuses to shudder into silence. There is also the appearance of collusion in the Padgett case by Judge Charles W. Boteler, Jr. and the MADISONVILLE MESSENGER. One would also wonder how a check which PREPAID child support mysteriously disappeared. (Read the infamous history of Scientology and you will find that such disappearances are almost routine in Scientology legal cases. ) So Judge Boteler sentenced Tom Padgett to five years in prison on bogus charges.

Tom Padgett spent 35 days in a Kentucky jail. When he was released, he was wearing an orange jumpsuit with PRISONER printed on it and was in a courthouse 40 miles away from the jail where his clothes were. Why did the Kentucky authorities not drive him back to the jail? Why did the MADISONVILLE MESSENGER refuse to print a retraction of the inaccuracies in its story, and apparently, refuses to allow Tom Padgett to buy ad space to correct the falsehoods?

Judge Boteler, in spite of clear evidence that Tom Padgett was wrongly sentenced, refused to dismiss the charges against him and ordered him back to Madisonville to face these same charges on on Feb. 22 and 23.

Now the dates have been changed to Feb. 23 and 26 which means Tom Padgett must incur the added expense of food and lodging (or double airfare) for himself, his attorneys and his witnesses, who may not be able to spare that much time. Just another example of Scientology's policies of delay and harassment to silence its opponents and "beggar"

them to their last pair of socks.

How do I know so much about Scientology's "legal" practices? I watched Scientologists harass, intimidate, slander and sue Oklahoma, Oklahomans, Oklahoma Indians, agencies, etc. and manipulate the media, the law, the courts and the judges to get their NarCONon Drug Treatment Program, which the Oklahoma Mental Health Board found to be unsafe and ineffective, established on Indian land.

The Church of Scientology also used forty years of lawsuits, harassment and slander to bring the I.R.S. to its knees. The I.R.S. not only gave Scientology "religious" tax exemption (overruling a Supreme Court decision), but it gave this "church" exemption for "set fees for services" which no other religion has, including yours.

So if Kentuckians think the plight of a Massachusetts man is no concern of yours, think again. Oklahomans and many, many others have learned the hard way. Due to the Internet, people all over the world know about the Padgett case.

If Scientology succeeds in getting an innocent man incarcerated for five years, they will not go quietly into that dark night of silence.
