Well, my forged self, I would say the opposite: ethics are genetically
coded as well as based upon selfishness--- one cannot divorce the
nature from the nurture. "Morality," on the other hand, tend to be
based on selfishness with little or no reason other than selfishness:
"morals" are codes of conduct mandated by the herd to make the herd mentality homogonous enough so that a pretense of peace and harmony among the herd is maintained. That means that individuals suffer for the sake of the society they find themselves in--- often that suffering is arbitrary. I consider morality selfish for that reason, among others.
