It claims to have the answers to all illness and promises to turn one into someone who never gets sick. Instead of seeking scientifically proven methods such as modern medicine, it promotes rather dangerous mixtures of vitamins and semi-hypnotic "counseling." Large numbers of $cientologists and ex-$cientologists succumb to cancers, most of which could have been prevented or cured if caught in time.
2. $cientology can be harmful to your family.
If any member of your family disagrees with $cientology, you will most likely be required to disconnect from them. If you are a female staff member, you may be required to get an abortion in order to keep your job.
3. $cientology can be harmful to your wallet.
Even the most basic services of this "church" are charged for. To graduate from any of these courses, one is usually expected to sign up for the next course. The deeper one gets, the more expensive the courses become. People have been known to spend in excess of three hundred thousand dollars on these "services."

While the lower levels of $cientolgy merely hint at the science fiction nature of the faith, the upper levels contain bizarre accounts of space opera societies using space ships looking like DC-9s carrying glycol-frozen bodies to be blown up and implanted with images of Jesus and kitchen sinks. Then you are told that you are infested with these clusters of space cooties. In addition to this, there is an action called the Introspection Rundown, that is so hazardous that you must sign a waiver allowing the cult to hold you against your will in case you have a psychotic break.
5. $cientology can be harmful to others.
Leaving $cientology is considered a "crime" by the group and may subject those who do to various levels of attack by the group. People who oppose $scientology’s aims may find them selves harassed and sued. $cientology has a reputation as a vindictive cult that will go to any extreme to silence its critics.

$cientology teaches that a college dropout is a doctor and, that this same person, who failed the only physics class he ever took, was a nuclear physicist. This person, twice removed from positions of command for reasons of incompetence, is said to be a naval warhero. This person with proven racist, misogynist and psychotic tendencies, is considered the ultimate expert on everything. This individual was later elevated to reign as God-like "Source".
7. $cientology is harmful to itself.
This group has its own "gulags" for troublesome members called the RPF. Staff members have no retirement program, but are offloaded onto the streets once they are too old or too ill to keep working. In order to keep current management in power, those of proven ability are either sent to slave in the RPF or they are declared and expelled.
