The bases for the shore story are ostensible motive, reasons, explanations and testimony which rely extensively on real events capable of being verified, true to life and credible. Shore stories are used primarily by operatives in political work.
In applying a shore story, the following must be considered:
- interests which determine the conduct of the target person, - passability of the operative - the furthermost application of real events - reality, flexibility and development potential.
A prerequisite for working out an effective shore story is the definition of the goal to be obtained, specifically:
which persons are to be moved to which conduct, Other considerations in developing a shore story are: the assessment of the target persons, especially their biases, interests, habits and attitude, and conflicts between their thinking, attitude and behavior.
