Okay, LotusFace and all, here's the Bennetta scoop. My source on this is one hundred percent reliable, although this info came from memory so the dates are perhaps not entirely correct, although he/she was certain about the cast of characters. (Even OT's have fallible memories [gasp!].)
Bennetta started in Scientology at the Dallas Mission southwest when Dean Stokes was E.D. (He was SP declared during the second Mission Holder purge.) This was sometime during the early eighties. She was on staff and worked in Div 6 as a bookseller, reg, etc.
It was during this time that she had a common law marriage to Greg Barnes. They had a ceremony but never legally sealed the union with an official marriage license.
She left staff and disappeared for a while in Houston, where she partied hard, met and married David Slaughter. Her employment in Houston is unknown. She and David returned to Dallas. This was during the real estate boom in the mid-eighties. She and David either bought or started Atlantic Financial, a mortgage brokerage. They made alot of money during this period.
Lisa McPherson, also at the Dallas Mission (by then an org), worked for her at Atlantic Financial. (She and Bennetta met at the Dallas org. This is also where Bennetta met Brenda Hubert-Spencer and Bryan and Rhonda Jordan, who also worked for her at Atlantic Financial and, later, AMC when it was formed.)
At the time Lisa was married to (for about four years), Gene Skonetski (sp?). It should be noted that Gene had a minor criminal history and he and Lisa filed for bankruptcy. Soon thereafter, they divorced. He joined the Sea Org and ended up on Flag finance lines, then went to AO in the FBO (money lines) position. It is unknown by my source whether or not he's still in the Sea Org. Lisa already had a history of instability by this time. Out of respect for her memory I will not pass along some very salient incidences this person recalled, dating as far back as this period.
Bennetta and David sold Atlantic Financial sometime in the mid to late
eighties at exactly the perfect time since soon after they sold the
Texas real estate market went from boom to bust. She and David moved to
California during this time. My source did not know the exact location
in California or what they did while there.
In around 1990 she and David moved back to Dallas and returned to the Dallas org. Jeff had recently started AMC, which actually has a parent company, although my source couldn't remember the name except that it starts with the letter 'P'.
(This info should be available by looking at www.networksolutions.com, then AMC Publishing.)
I'll post this and continue.

(As an addendum to the above, they got out of Atlantic Financial before the whole Savings and Loan scandal erupted.)
Jeff had the idea to market 3x5 cards to insurance agents to get them to sell products for insurance companies, which meant AMC's primary customer was the insurance companies themselves. At the time he started the company there were only two other companies in the U.S. doing this.
AMC originally stood for Agent Marketing Cards, although once Bennetta and David formed a partnership with Jeff, which was incorporated, it stood for Agent Media Corporation. It should be noted that the partnership was split three ways, which meant Jeff effectively gave up his voting voice when the partnership was formed, but he did gain alot of steam with their arrival.
So the original players at AMC were Jeff, Bennetta, David, Lisa, Brenda Hubert (she was front desk help and later sales), Shirley Cage (also front desk/admin and later sales.
=A0=A0It should be noted that Shirley was longtime staff at Dallas who had joined the Sea Org and was actually LRH's Communicator for a time.
She routed out of the Sea Org in about 1989.). Not long after Shirley joined AMC so did her husband, Nolan. (Nolan was later put in charge of "continuing education", which offered courses to insurance agents. This wasn't too successful and was later abandoned, according to my source.)
Also, right around this time Carol South came on board as their graphics designer and soon thereafter her husband, Steve, joined the company (he did the computer work). (It should also be noted that Carol died at the age of forty-five last fall of breast cancer.) Franz Reiter was also hired around this time as a salesperson.
These were the original players. Basically, at the helm was Bennetta Slaughter as Executive Director (chief shot caller), David in financial/production (not computers, as I said in another post) and Jeff as creative/production. The others were art, computer, sales and office help.
Within months of incorporating AMC these original players being on board, Bennetta's sister-in-law, Terry was hired in sales, then Rhonda Jordan was hired in sales, and Sheryl Randall (although she didn't move to Clearwater). Also, a young seventeen to nineteen year old Latin American named Gloria Cruz was hired. She moved in with David and Bennetta, and they later legally adopted her, and she assumed the last name Slaughter. She remained in Dallas to go to college and did not make the original move to Clearwater. (Additionally, David and Bennetta later adopted the baby of a family member, who is now around sixteen years old.) I'll post this then continue.

So the overall picture is that Bennetta, David and Jeff (mostly Bennetta) put together a group of Scientologists with a can-do attitude who all wanted to get up the Bridge.
Talks began sometime in 1991 about moving the business to Clearwater.
The idea was that they would work together to make the business work and help each other get up the Bridge. According to my source, the viewpoint shifted over time to aggrandizing and making money for Bennetta, but that's another hook in the story.
This group moved to Clearwater in late 1993. (Their picture and news of their arrival was in one of the Flag rags if anyone kept or has access to it.) In the beginning everything went well and according to plan.
They were working hard, making money for themselves and the company, being on course and getting auditing--all why they moved to Clearwater.
Then Bennetta got the company involved in the "LRH Admin Know How"
award. Soon thereafter a W.I.S.E. east U.S. 'agent' shows up and starts involving the company in this. And soon after this the company and its' employees start running "Winter Wonderland". (They do an excellent job, by the way.)
The employees essentially become a resource for Flag. They're either working, on course or involved in a Flag-related project. Employees came and went but some of the core members remained and the company steadily grew as they expnded into rag mags, then glossy mags.
According to my source, who knows Bennetta Slaughter very, very well, she is motivated by three things in life: power, prestige and money. It was during this period, with the company expanding and her profile in the Scientology community growing that the shift went from Bennetta running the business to Bennetta as the Scientology "opinion leader", with employees obliged to flow her and her projects time and energy.
I will also note that, according to my source, David Slaughter has astutely run the money lines for years. He kept things on track for the company in this regard and for them personally. He flowed money to Flag, but did not "overflow" (easy to do). He/she said it is highly unlikely David would have invested much money with Reed Slatkin, as he is very conservative with their personal investments, although he may have rolled half a dice.
An additional point of interest is that AMC would flow money toward their employees Bridge, which had to be repaid at a future date whether they stayed with the company or not. It's the Freeloader debt concept.
Anyway, Lisa McPherson nearly hero-worshipped Bennetta Slaughter. She really did have her high on a pedestal, according to this source and other reports I've read.
The day after Lisa died David Slaughter called an employee meeting in order to give them a briefing on the situation (translation: bullshit session). They all knew Lisa was at the FH and was having trouble (they knew her history and recent events) but all communication on the subject had been suppressed.
David informed them that Lisa died. He told them she had had lunch at the Lemon Tree restaurant, then gone to her room. It was unclear whether she'd died of an embolism or blood clot that had moved to her brain, or perhaps menengitis. They were told Flag was offering that they could go to the Chaplain and have their ruds flown FOR FREE!! The generosity is, indeed, moving.
In early 1997 Bennetta hired an attorney out of Tampa named Ronald k.
Cacciatore. He was available to employees as they went for their depositions at the police department.
As an overview to the current situation as it relates to her involvment with Applied Scholastics, my source has some very reliable lines within the organization and has put out lines in an effort to get a handle on this. He/she says it appears they are playing this one close to the vest as no info has been obtained.
But...he/she does not view it as a reward. Rewards in Scientology are highly publicized. Were it not for Internet news we probably wouldn't even know about it.
He/she said involving Bennetta in the Reed Slatkin thing was probably a mistake since she is still attached to Lisa McPherson, which is still pending. In other words, the water around her is very, very muddy.
This person said she has likely been sent to St. Louis in part to get her out of town and in part to palacate and stroke her. But this is only speculation.
In closing, Craig Burton and Katey Chamberlain are currently, for all effective purposes, running the company. My source also says Bennetta, David and Jeff have split about one to two million per year in after expense income over the past several years.
Also, the company does no printing for Flag, aside from inhouse "Winter Wonderland" related PR pieces. They do not even do actual printing themselves. This is done by local shops.
Sorry for the verbosity of these posts but I wanted to provide as full and accurate a picture as possible.
