Well, it's been quite a while since I've been in Sydney, so I thought I'd swoop on past the Castlereagh Street org and see what wonderful renovations have been carried out as promised by (*) at the New Years' Event.
You guessed it - another reliable $cientology 'promise'. The place still looks like a down-at-heel department store.
Funny, as I was approaching the org from the east, just crossing from Hyde Park, I found myself in the company of six females and three males, all Caucasian, all early-mid twenties, in uniform. Uh oh! Still it didn't look like the standards SO rig, in that the shirts were a blue-grey, not white. However, on closer inspection, it proved that they were all SO.
New uniforms?
They'd all come from the direction of the Park. Maybe they'd been out having lunch ?:-P
Anyways, they all went into the building and scattered, some upstairs, some into the public areas. There was a male Asian receptionist, about thirty-something. No-one else. I took up my position at that strategic bus stop across the road, and readied myself to count the thronging traffic on stats day.
Two SO, one male, one female, from the previous bunch re-appeared at 1310, lugging a couple of cartons on a hand-trolley, and batted off south down Castlereagh Street. Probably heading for the AO in Glebe with the weekly skim ;-) Apart from that, nothing. No foot traffic.
No visible activity in either the public areas or the upstairs.
Maybe it was a religious holiday?
This is true.
