So now we are in modern times and therefore it is different. Good! So why don't the Jews in Palestine stop stealing the land from the Palestinians and returning thrown stones with bullets? Why doesn't the Catholic Church slowly sell off all its art treasures and land that it stole from people to help the poor as Jesus would have wanted? If it is OK for you and anybody else reading this that Judaism, Christianity and Islam pile on the abuse upon their violent and muderous foundations. If their thieving and torturing and murder to establish themselves as legitimate religion meets with your approval now in that they continue to be mainstream religions then why can't Scientology bully, steal and even kill in order to have the chance to establish themselves as a mainstream religion? If you accept Judaism, Christianity and Islam's right to practice their religion in the modern day, knowing full well the murderous path they took to establish themselves, then why can't Scientology do this in the modern day so that they can compete with them on an equal footing in the future? Are you saying that Scientology is not allowed to compete on an equal footing with either Judaism, Christianity or Islam?

That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. The only reason we put up with crap from the OTHER religions is that they're so huge it's all you can do to keep the fuckers from taking over the country entirely. They'll have to dwindle down some more before they can be put into a state of permanent decline.

People will always need their lunacy, though, so some form of religion is likely to remain. It might as well be the lunacy we already have, rather than the even more dangerous lunacy of Scientology. We've already seen what happens when we let these OTHER religions take over a society (the Inquisition, the Crusades, the slaughter of the Canaanites, 9/11, etc), so why let an even nuttier group into the picture? The nuts we already have are quite dangerous enough.

Scientology will remain a fringe cult. Unlike the other Big Three, they never will have enough guns or members to take over forcibly. Religion is on the decline in Europe. Just keep 'em on the run, and let them finally sink into their well-deserved senility.

Give it a few thousand years and they'll be as forgotten as Surtur, Huitzilopochtli, Shamash, Marduk and all the other dead gods.

And perhaps they'll have something even crazier to replace it.
