Tuesday, August 21, 2001 - 09:58 pm Greetings all! This was yesterday's post, sorry about the delay, but here it is. (I'll be posting the Day 4 countdown post later today.)

Okay, it's FIVE DAYS and counting until the opening of THE PROFIT!

It seems that the Scientologists ARE in fact interested in the film ;-) Today, folks at the SP Times said that THE PROFIT has become the talk of the newsroom. Seems that their online website is being bombarded with....ahem....loud emails ranting against THE PROFIT.

According to the SP Times, alot of the emails are claiming that the SP TIMES is behind the film! The folks at the SP Times are perplexed.

They've never gotten so much mail about a movie that hasn't even been seen yet. So, a GROUP of the paper's execs have decided to come to the theatre this weekend to check it out for themselves. They said that they wanted to see what all the Brouhaha was about.

So, thank you Scientology for, once again, helping to promote our film THE PROFIT.

Also, another note:

The owner of the Cinema Cafe where THE PROFIT will be showing called today to say that he'd had a couple of girls come by to book a table for 15. They acted very suspicious sitting in their car watching everyone go into the theatre before approaching the box office window. Then when they were told that the theatre didn't take reservations, they threw a huge fit, cussing and screaming.

Very strange behavior for movie-going public.....but hey! They couldn't be Scns, could they? since the Church of Scientologys' official statements claims: "We are not interested in this movie"

Don't forget to tune in to WMNF (www.wmnf.org) on Wednesday, the 22nd, at 1PM for a live audio feed for the RADIOACTIVITY show featuring the Director of THE PROFIT, Peter Alexander.

So it's now FOUR days until THE PROFIT opens in Cleawater and the Cinema Cafe said they're being deluged with calls. We don't know if these calls indicate they're actually COMING or not, LOL, but it's nice to hear that there's so much interest.

We're all looking forward to the Director, Peter Alexander's, guest appearance tomorrow on Tampa radio station WMNF FM tomorrow at 1 PM. Our terrific Head of Security when we were shooting, Mike Krotz, will also be on hand to talk about some of the behind the scenes Scn antics while we were shooting the film.

It's always interesting to see what guises the Scientologists will use when they call in to the show. Since they haven't seen the film,they will have to be VERY creative. We expect the following:

Someone will call and say: "Yeah I have a cousin/brother/girlfriend that worked on that film and they said you guys abused people on the set!"

or I live in the Tampa Bay area and I heard about how you all destroyed all the locations where you filmed.

or I heard that you guys are hate mongers who just want to attack a religion.

We know the nature of the calls because this is the type of anonymous mail they've been sending to our vendors, clients and suppliers.

I could be wrong, though, since they have made it clear via the OFFICIAL STATEMENT of the Church of Scientology: "We have no interest in this movie"

Sure would be a surprise to see them avoid taking a shot at THE PROFIT, when they've never resisted before. So......let's see if what Ben Shaw said to the ST Pete Times is true:

"WE PLAN TO IGNORE THIS FILM"

Be sure to listen to RADIOACTIVITY, on WMNF tomorrow at 1PM.
