I got a nice email from one of the Times reporters yesterday, thanking me for sending a copy of my CW/SD tourism rant, as posted last week to ARS. Here's my response:
I'm glad you enjoyed reading my comparison of San Diego and Clearwater.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as the SP Times article concerning the poll Scientology paid for. I hope your city council pays close attention. Scientology may have the money to throw out for reelection campaigns, but oh, my! Sounds like the Clearwater residents would rather have a pack of alligators than a totalitarian cult in their midst! Come to think of it, tourists would PAY to see alligators!
