I've recently been doing some more work on getting rid of my Scientology indoctrination thingies and I've had a few insights.
I figured I'd share one of my "wins" as it appears a few of your have some interest in how I am moving along in this whole unindoctrination process.
One thing that may be quite obvious to all of you but I was truly clueless about was the fact that most people think Scientology is just completely awful and nutty. :;->
I know, I know, this is a no brainer but I truly had no idea.
I just never understood the degree in which the "wog" world thinks that Scientology is just bad to the bone. You critics have really done a wonderful job of letting people know what creepy cult Scn really is.
My husband and I were at a get together where we had no worries about others knowing we were out of Scientology and I got this outpouring of both concern and horror at how bad Scientology is.
It hit me right then that all my life, when I introduced myself to "wogs" and told them I was a Scientologist, I would always get these very "polite" responses.
"Oh ya, Tom Cruise is in that group?"
"Oh nice, John Travolta is involved with that, he is such a nice man".
"Ah yes, I've seen their infomercials."
Or sometimes someone wouldn't know much and would ask me a polite question about it.
But when I told this group of people that I used to be involved with Scientology I got this:
"Man, they are a bunch of kooks"
"That is a very dangerous cult"
"Oh my god, are you OK, do they bother you?"
You see, not only was the C of S lying to me all these years, but nice "wogs" were being "polite" and so I never really had any idea just what they thought about Scientology. I thought that most people had no real idea what Scientology was about and that the criticism was really only a very small but vocal group.
I think this happens to most Scientologists. I think it's what helps to keep the delusion in place. The C of S takes advantage of the fact that "wogs" are nice people. LOL!
I am not advocating being rude to Scientologists. But I think honesty with lots of kindness is a much better response to anyone involved in a cult.
One day I hope to feel comfortable about speaking directly to Scientologists that are still buried under the indoc.
Thanks for listening.
