There are many reasons a person becomes a critic of scientology. Man lives have been touched by scientology in many different ways - a lot of them negative.

Some people say the tech works and others say it does not. I do not believe it does as it is based on faulty understanding of others' works (IMO).

The part that got me involved in this fight is not the tech but the policies and procedures that are used in the COS to manipulate, control, and devalue people. Policies such as sec-checks, KR's,Ehtics Handlings, the RPF,and of course disconnection. There are so many things that are done under the guise of relgiousness that it is hard to isolate only a few.

Sea Org members and thier children seem to fare the worst and yet they are touted as the best and the brightesst scientology has to offer.

Hubard Study Tchnology, the Student Hat, and word clearing are not about learning and growing but about stopping thought and not learning anything outside of scientology. Children raised in Cadet Orgs are, by most accounts, poorly supurvised, badly treated, not educated and spend very little time being nurtured and loved by their parents. There are accounts of women being coerced into having abortions in the Sea Org because a child is a drain on its parents resources. This is the continuation of the idea that a meat body is insignificant and since a thetan can be reborn elsewhere than it is no big deal. It fits with DM's opinon about Lisa McPherson "she died, people die" which is a callous,to say the least, way of referring to someone's life being ended at such an early age.

The COS looks at people and sees money and power and control it bothers itself not with aiding and comforting those who need it but with those who can pay large amounts of cash to receive auditing and other courses to make it up the bridge.

It cares not a whit about those who are suffering - the homeless, the disabled, the mentally ill - they are too down stat to receive help.

This is not about helping people at all - it is about helping the COS get their hands on people's money.

The many front groups of scientolog are used to recruit new members, make more money and gain power and influence in local,regional,state/provincial and federal governments,agencies and lobby groups. It is through the use of these government agencies,special interest groups, and so forth that the COS seeks to contol to pass laws that its wants and to trample on the rights and freedoms of those who have the temerity to stand opposed to its policies,procedures, and its goal of ulitmate control.

Hubbard was an evil man who got caught up in the quest for power and control and the COS reflects those characteristics even if it has "squirrled" Ron's words.

I ask all those who lurk and have questions to look at these sites, read them and learn for yourself what it is that the COS does and is doing to stop people from exercising their right to free speech and peaceful assembly.

To the families who have been victimized by this cult I hope that one day you can take a stand against this cult and find peace in doing so.

Too many familes have been ripped apart by COS policies and procedures.

Too many young people have died at their own hands because of scientology's policies and procedures. Lives have been lost because people were told they had all the answers and that no medication was needed for their medical conditions. People have been swindled out of all thier money and life's savings, people have been sued into bankruptcy, lost thier jobs and homes because of the COS policy of shudder into silence and ruin them utterly.

That is why I am a critic, why I picket, and why I tell people about this cult at every chance I get. If I can save a life, a family, a person from losing everything then I know I have done something. I cannot sit idly by and watch evil being done.
