I would like to know why does alabama not sale beer and other alcohlic beverages on sunday?
Fr_Chuck gave this response on 4/15/2000:
there used to be what they called the "blue laws" I could not find my book on it, but it basicly had a whole list of all types of stores that could not be open on Sunday, this was set by the Christian control of our governemtn that used to exist.
those states, and counties that still follow these teachings, and there are many states that will not sell on sunday, beleive that this is a sabboth day, still holy and that respect must be given.
But since this is controled by the state, only voted on by the citizens it is legal, a christian or church opinion is ok if it is done by civil procedures
