I would like to know why does alabama not sale beer and other alcohlic beverages on sunday?
rainbowlady gave this response on 4/15/2000:
Originally, the law was passed because of the prohibition of working on the Sabbath that many religions placed on their members. Now, it's just the way things are. The law could not be challenged on separation of church and state grounds because the right to DRINK alcohol is not a civil right. It would be well within the state's right to simply ban alcohol sales altogether.
