CLEARWATER - Downtown Clearwater Development Plan Has Voter Support!
Downtown Developer Plan Voted Down!
Which of the above words best describes the headline to be published on Friday, July 12th?
Will Clearwtaer voters support the downtown development plan recommended by the city commissioner and master developers?
Recently, and because of reported statements that the final development agreement might allow the Church of Scientology to somehow acquire certain "rights" from the master developer, developer George de Guardiola has reportedly agreed to allow agreement language in the final contract to prohibit such transfer of "rights" to the downtown Clearwater Church group.
Will the developer's recent statement help to support the vote on July 11th?
"I think so," stated a downtown supporter. "This might help clear the air about some people saying the developer could sell the deal to the Church of Scientology. That is simply not true."
The July 11th referendum in Clearwater is perhaps the most important vote the city has confronted in many years.
Save The Bayfront supporters do not support the development plan ... and suggest Clearwater voters to vote no.
Citizens For A Better Clearwater support downtown development ... and suggest Clearwater voters to vote yes.
Much has been said both for, and against, the development of downtown Clearwater.
It is likely that Clearwater voters will receive more information about the July 11th vote over the weekend. Both citizen groups, Save The Bayfront and Citizens For A Better Clearwater have been criticized for not presenting clear statements to the public about the downtown development plan.
