    This is some low-grade sh*t, Jim.  She's not being the good
    little go-fer people would prefer, but is expressing her *very
    own* opinions.  I suppose she therefore deserves to be shouted 
    down and insulted as you have just done.

    She wasn't going along with, as Rod so aptly put it, "the
    trunk-to-tail parade of ars opinions" you and the other
    "investigators" have endorsed, so she gets accused of setting
    people against each other?

    I am told this is a similar but less direct version of the
    insulting comments being made behind the scenes on the list,
    about Diane, to make her feel worthless and unappreciated.

    The consistancy and integrity displayed by you and some
    of the other (unnamed) critics of Diane is certainly 
    very impressive.

    But not favorably so.

    (I have advised her to lower her expectations of people so she
    will be less disappointed when they turn out to be spineless
    sycophants or fair-weather friends.  Then she will be pleasantly
    surprised if they don't turn out that way.  It's a cynical 
    attitute, I know, but also, I'm sorry to say, realistic.)
