Yes, a great book, as it proves my case. In 1987 Bacque wrote "Other Losses" showing about 1M German POWs died in Allied hands. So in 1990, Ambrose, to save Ike's reputation, assembled a 'refute Bacque' conference; the book come from that conference. The book agrees with Bacque that about 1.5M German POWs died. It says that the USSR was responsible for almost all of them. But, now the USSR files are open. They killed off 456K POWs. So now both Bacque and Ambrose agree. The other 1M died, but not in USSR hands. Guess whose? Yes, I know. No number of German deaths can make up for a single Jew. GFH
