estriker asked this question on 5/17/2000:
I have two female friends ages 14 and 15, who are seeing a pyscologist and were NOT prescribed to an anti-depressant. I am not sure what kind of anti-depressant they are taking, but they take over 8 at a time to give them a high. I would like to know what the side effects are and how it could affect them at this amount. I am very worried about them. Could a type of mix with other drugs like alcohol, pot, or an extreme amount of Robotussin be fatal?

Hey Estriker
Greetings from the little place on the other side of that huge pond you guys have.
Your two friends are being pretty daft if you ask me..they not only take risks with their own lives but put others at risk too.... what if something went horribly wrong...how would you feel...who else may die while the doctors are treating the girls?? Taking anything that has not been prescribed for you is sheer madness.
If they are doing drugs (Pot) plus meds and alcohol too they are on borrowed time...really....
If you are this worried talk to the girls parents, ask them not to say you have but please do this one more thing for them...they will curse and put blame around but at least they will be alive. You seem to be a good hearted, kind sort of a person and this is all you can do for them now. They need serious help and if you stand by because they are friends, and you really don't want to cause trouble, think how it is going to feel if something goes wrong?????
I admire your guts for asking and hope the strength is enough to allow you to help them. If the parents thing seem a bit too much tell the girls, and tell them you will talk to their parents unless they come back to earth.
Good luck and great going...they don't know how lucky they really are to have a friend like you behind them.
