Hi
Having read the names of some of the other replies, I am, I guess, about to tell you pretty much the same thing I would have expected them to...and I am not going to read them all to see....
I take Prozac as well as a large number of other drugs..including Morphine..an opiate that is expected to be addictive..but none are...I believe that so long as there is a need for medication it will do its job and therefore adictive or not it is worth taking to prevent other problems.
Prozac is not, in any degree at all, addictive. I often stop taking them for short periods to give my body a break and not once have I ever craved them, this would, I feel, prove they are not addictive. Addiction means a craving..a desire to function or needed if you are going to lead a life free from major side effects without them.
I hope you will accept, from someone who knows, because he takes them, and has 13yrs+ experience, that Prozac are not addictive and really do help prepare the body to accept other forms of help....therapy and so on. Then, once other treatment beomes effective the Prozac can be withdrawn....under the supervision of your doctors.
Good luck and best wishes from a former doubter...now much better informed...
Dave (UK)

Thank you for your advice and mentioning your expoerience. I have been on Prozac now for a few days.
I wish the "experts" here who told me it was addictive would get their shit together.
