I've been taking Zoloft for almost seven years. When I try to go without it symptoms make my life miserable and I go back on...however, lately I think it's not working - I have running thoughts at night, when I should be sleeping, and I have a more flat affect during the day. I'm frightened. I imagine the zoloft's effectiveness is wearing out, that my body's system has grown too used to it - NOW WHAT?!

You've actually answered your own question. First of all after awhile you may have to have the dosage increased to compensate for any changes which may be occurring in your life. Your body may just have buit a tolerance to the level you are taking now, just like it would do with most medications. You should see your Dr. and tell him everything about the changes that are going on. It is very important to very detailed in the changes which are going on. He may prescribe a higher dosage or try a different type of anti-depresant or theraphy. It is imperative for your sake that you don't prolong making that visit to your Dr.
