I just wanted to let you know that although scientology is a religion it is based on the science of the mind "Dianetics", a book first published in 1950. I would also like to say that many religions offer counsel to the bereaved and depressed. epression is not the domain of psychology alone. Psychology has it's school of thought, scientology has theres.
I'd also like to thank you for not beating the beejesus out of me like some of the psyches have done so privately. Helpline himself referred to me as a F!@#ing P#@!k. Scary as that is coming from a "professional" I'll let it roll off,for now at least.
Be good,be well

Hi --
Thanks for responding to what I had answered.
I must tell you I very much respect your efforts to help questioners. In fact, I have a great deal of respect for anyone on this page who seems to care about the questioner and gives a constructive answer. You certainly attempt to meet their needs, even though I sometimes disagree with (small) parts of what you say. But it is not my (or anyone's) role or right to bash you. I'm very sorry that has happened. The last thing this page needs is experts bashing each other!
I have read Dianetics. I have also read the Book of Mormon, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the Apocrypha, the Bible, and the Koran. So I may include Christian or Christian Science or Zen Buddhist ideas here, as long as they pertain to depression? I was not aware that I could do that, thinking that sort of response belonged on a different (religion?) page.
Apparently, the adjective "professional" can be used quite loosely...judging from your experience with some of them...
