ECT can be an effective treatment for depression.
I can understand your doctors unwillingness to use medications which could endanger your liver.
But if your depression is preventing you from taking proper care of yourself and lowering your survival potential, then it must be dealt with.
Talk therapy is also helpful and you should be working with a therapist every week.
Doctors do not suggest ECT on a whim.
When you decide, make your choice for live in the fullest.
