I am also fed up with some members cheating for the sake of points but wanted to add another point re the sites lack of care.
In some areas there are multi replies, all rated and, all with a 5*. The answers are exactly the same, often sent "in error" according to the person sending them.
If anyone would like to see what I mean then go to Depression...Look at the question on the open board "Just a little lonely" asked by Ramoon...then look at the replies from targhee...there are no less than 5 replies with the same answer...4 rated 5*...
I have to say that I do not know anything about targhee and accept their claim to a computer error but this does not alter the fact the site has awarded 4 - 5* ratings regardless...So much for the checks they talk about in the rules...
Are we now in a competion or are we still here to try and exchange experiences/advice and ideas???
It is all such a pity because this was a good site before the changes...

My opinion: If a poster should happen to rate any of my answers I use that as an indication to the helpfulness of my answer and to see if improvement is needed. It's sad that anyone should be on this board for the sake of competition!

Beats me, but frankly I couldn't care less. In just a few days this board has gone from what I percieved was its intended purpose to nothing more than a sounding board for frustrations. Not what I want to waste my time on.
The average rating for this answer is 3.

Many thanks, my thoughts exactly.
Trouble is these rating chasers are being rushed up to the top of the ratings and ordinary folk, those in search of real help, are getting the impression that these are the best. Not such a good thing I am sure you will agree...Maybe you could also explain how your answer to me has already gained a 3* rating...before I even read it???
