Specific Examples of Sexual Harassment

(From a hand-out EnviroTech employees received at a seminar)

Verbal
o   Calling a person a hunk, doll, babe or honey
o   Turning work discussions to sexual topics
o   Asking personal questions about social or sexual life
o   Asking about sexual fantasies, preferences or history
o   Making sexual comments about a person's clothing, body or looks
o   Making kissing sounds, howling, smacking lips
o   Telling lies or spreading rumors about a person's sex life

Non-Verbal
o   Staring at someone
o   Blocking a person's path
o   Restricting, hindering the otherperson's movements
o   Sexual and/or derogatory comments about men/women on coffee mugs,
      hats, clothing,  etc.
o   Making facial expressions, such as winking, throwing kisses, or
      licking lips
o   Making sexual gestures with hands and/or body movements
o   Letters, gifts, and/or materials of a sexual nature
o   Invading a person's body space; standing closer than appropriate or 
      necessary for the work being done.

Physical
o   Massaging a person's neck, shoulders, etc.
o   Touching the person's clothing, hair, or body
o   Hugging, kissing, patting, or stroking
o   Touching or rubbing oneself sexually around or in the view of
      another person
o   Brushing up against a person
o   Patting, goosing, caressing, or fondling
o   Tearing/pulling/yanking a person's clothing
o   Exposing oneself
