A Vancouver doctor has successfully produced a rival for RU 486
which uses two inexpensive and readily available medications. It can
be used within the first few weeks of pregnancy and a success rate
of 95% was obtained in its first clinical trial. Unlike RU 486,
only one visit to a doctor is required when the anti-cancer drug,
Methotrexate, is injected amd the patient is given a vaginal
suppository, Mysoprostol, to be inserted three days after the
injection. Within a few hours, the miscarriage starts and no
serious side-effects were encountered with the first 100 patients.

Naturally. further testing will be required but one hopes that
the rabid anti-abortionists will concede defeat in their unholy war
to stop women exercising their right to control their reproductive
functions.
