Washington, D.C.
THEME: "Boundary Work: Linking Research, Legal, and Counseling/
Training Perspectives on Sexual Harassment"
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 1, 1995
SASH is an interdisciplinary organization which welcomes papers and
presentations that include a variety of perspectives on and
approaches to the problems of sexual harassment. SASH is co-
sponsored annually by, and held in conjunction with, the Society for
the Study of Social Problems annual meetings. The 1995 conference is
especially interested in proposals that explore the following:
(1) Research studies of under-studied targets of sexual harassment, in
particular, women of color, or women in highlymale dominated occupations.
(2) Research which employs innovative or under-utilized methods of
studying harassment experiences--e.g., case studies, in-depth
interviews, observation/field analysis.
(3) Explorations of legal and policy issues. Papers which address
the intersection of law/policy and social scientific research--
e.g., expert witness work, harassment claims or complaint
processing, policy advocation--are especially welcome.
(4) Creating harassment-free environments. Training programs or
workshops which are designed to alleviate the problem of sexual
harassment in work or educational environments.
