This afternoon I had a few errands to run. Brent had been out earlier and
had PIs on him, starting with a woman who was parked beside the road
frying in the sun. She and a guy followed him around to several stores.
They were trying to be inconspicuous--and having roughly the luck of a
painted pig.
I went out later to run a few errands myself, and the first thing I saw on
Elk was the red car, license number 4JNY124 with the melted woman in it.
She took off as I came within a hundred yards of her. I followed for a
little while she tried to get away. She turned on Palm and when she got
to Johnson (nearly back at Ida's house) a white car, 4JHL638 rescued her
by blocking the street behind her. I called to him, waved at him, at and
got a photo (shades and all) at Palm and Stetson.
I was more lost than trying to catch one over by the Catholic Church when
I spotted one of the white cars they are using. I got a long range photo
of him turning around.
Eventually I had most of my errands done except for one which was about 20
miles away. It is a straight run, Hwy 74 over to I15 and north to Perris.
I didn't really care if they figured out where I was going, it would only
serve to increase their paranoia, but I won't put it in in case they lost
me.
A few miles on the way over I turned north into a road which turned out to
be a dead end, but the end of it curved enough to hide my car. I stayed
there for a few minutes then turned around and headed back to the highway.
The driver of the red car went into a panic and throwing up a huge cloud
of dirt, turned around in the road, tore back to the main highway, and
turned right. So did I, which put me on the PIs tail--a very unhappy PI I
might add. I lost the red car when they went through a light I didn't
feel like running.
When I got over to Perris, I pulled off into an alley and got out to check
who might becoming by. Sure enough a silver car I had spotted on the
freeway, 4HUZ501 came slowly by the end of the alley, and got caught at a
stop sign trying to get into heavy cross traffic. I ran down to the corner
and got some decent shots of a very unhappy PI or PI wannabe.
Either they had better people working after that or they gave up in
disgust because I didn't see any more of them from that point to where I
got home.
Brent and I put in a late picket, starting about 7 pm. We walked from the
west end to the east underpass and back. We could hear a traffic cop
keeping them from using the west stairs down to the underpass as we went
by. I tried to get a photo of the guard who was playing peek-a-boo, but
the bushes were too thick. Brent got thug 2 and I got Richardson, though
we didn't see them till we were most of the way to the main gate. (Did
they have warning we were coming?) Richardson stuck with me and Frank
tried every button he could think of on Brent. To no avail.
Tomorrow is another day.
