Ava called this morning. I told her that Aug. 28 was no good for a deposition since I was not going to be in town that day. We discused other dates and locations in LA. They are not willing to pay for airline tickets to hold the depostion in LA, even though it would save them a great deal of money. It seems that the excuse they are using to put me in a videotape deposition is that I made a post for Graham Berry reporting on Cipriano being deposed in Hurtado. It is particularly amusing that they want to know about my communications with Graham Berry, Robert Cipriano, Jane Scott, Scott Meyer, and Edith Matthai (Graham's lawyer in Hurtado) but are not concerned about communications I have had with Hurtado. At this point, we have agreed on a depostion in LA on Sept. 15 at ten am. I expect to be paid for going there and Ava does not expect to pay me. Anyway, I have to file a limited protective order with the court. Talk about an opportunity to educate the court! As a lawyer she has to know the boat is leaking faster than anyone can bail, even if they were not getting orders to knock another hole in the hull from the screaming (*).
