Of course they are. The ringleaders of the cult needed to find a way
to silence Keith Henson's picket signs so -- insanely ignoring the fact
that these ringleaders order followers to harass Keith outside of his
residence when they're supposed to be "in fear" of Keith -- the cult's
ringleaders ordered some of their most loyal -- and disposable --
followers to claim they're fearful of Keith's ICBMs. The cult's
ringleaders even ordered these few disposable followers to claim that
Keith's scientific background made his jokes a "possible threat."
Now the cult has to search Keith's underwear for ICBMs before they
can continue to claim it's a "credable and immediate threat."
The law enforcement officer who reviewed the claims did his homework and
did a wholly professional job of it. In fact, the cop knows his stuff
and, even if he got some terminology wrong, he successfully tracked down
all of the available evidence and rightfully concluded that there were no
such threats like the Scientology cult claims.
The District A. doubtlessly would love to tell the criminal cult to go
shove itself yet he has to be given a face-saving way to back out of the
propsition. DA's don't get to _be_ DA's without brains and it's certain
that the DA is now fully aware that the cult used him and lied to him.

You certainly make a good point here. If cult members fear me, then why
do they picket my house and my wife's place of work? They would be
putting themselves in harm's way if I were a violent type and defended my
home and family. (I actually welcome their pickets because their
picketing just does more to inform people about them.)

Hoden, in his declaration says:
"Henson and his associates, for the post month or so, have walked down
the highway and stood above the pedestrian tunnels as church staff walk
through. To prevent Henson from throwing a bomb or other incinerary [sic]
device on church staff, I have had to post staff near both tunnels.
Whenever Henson is near one tunnel, I have our security staff redirect
church staff to our other tunnel, located 300 yards away. This has
caused a tremendous disruption of our activities, but I have no choice
as we all fear that at any moment Henson, or the Rices, may throw a bomb
or some other from of explosive. I have had to cancel events on the
church grounds, change the location of normal meeting places and abandon
certain locations on the property due to Henson's presence."
The real reason, of course, is fear that the staff will see the words on
the picket signs, like "What Happened to Stacy Moxon Meyer?" Or, "It's OK
to Doubt" and the phone number for LMT. I also wonder if there has ever
been a case in the entire history of protest movements worldwide where
someone carrying a picket sign threw anything harmful? It is a pain to
hold a picket sign and even a few flyers at the same time.

Bingo!

Don't forget that Hemet is a small branch office for the Riverside DA.
I bet they get to file misdemeanor charges without clearing it with the
main office. But I don't think the local DAs who were in on this favor to
the cult thought they would have to deal with the 422 case. What I think
they were after was to file *any* charge, no mater how weak, where they
could pull a "notice lost in the mail" stunt and get me arrested on
failure to appear charge. Talk about an easy to prove charge! They would
then plea bargain me into not picketing the cult in exchange for probation
on the failure to appear charge and drop the 422 charge.
It darn near worked, but the *cult* screwed up the plan.
As a logical guess, everybody in the DA's office is now pissed at the
cult, especially those over in Hemet.
