My former next door neighbor Esther has been deceased for a few months now so I can tell you a story.

Shortly after the summer Keith Henson picketed Gold Base, my neighbor started telling me that someone would beat on her house with fists in the middle of the night.=A0 She was a bit hard of hearing so it took considerable to wake her up.=A0 They might have done it more than the half dozen times she mentioned this baffling noise.

It was obvious to me that it was scientologists trying to get back at me for providing Keith a place to stay while he picketed Gold Base over the two women that were killed out there in the spring of 2000.=A0 Our mailboxes are together and in the night I believe they confused the names. Others have so I think that is what happened.

Esther was completely mystified, not able to imagine why anyone would be beating on her bedroom wall.=A0 I did not tell her that it was possibly the cult as she would have reported it and the harassment would have increased. I thought it best to just tell her "not to worry" as long as they were pounding on the outside, they were not trying to break in.

But I thought the tale should be in public record.

They got the wrong house.
