Well, it was certainly an interesting two days spent in Hemet. I went up
to view the court case, and stayed at Ma Camburn's house, as did Keith
Henson.
I arrived considerably earlier than Keith, and set the alarm so I'd be
up to let him in at around midnight. We were at the courthouse by 8 am,
where we met a French/Indian videographer named Charmee or summat,
pronounced "shammy" as best I can tell.
We sat in one courtroom for a while. Turns out the judges were swapped,
so the case was to be heard by Judge Robert Wallersheim, so we had to
switch to another room. Abelson and McCabe (late of RTC) were there in
the row just in front of us. I amused myself by trying to melt Abelson's
brain with my mind and insulting him with offhand comments to my
associates. The back of the room was clam central, but they weren't
numerous. The judge finally took the bench and began addressing the
issues. The first issue had eight points, all of which were discarded.
That was an attempt to get the DA removed from the case because of undue
influence from certain cults. If the judge had been knowlegeable of the
cult's tactics, he probably would have booted the little weasel DA out
the door; this guy Schwarz sounded like he is bucking for Moxon's job
when it becomes available! Rumor has it there may be an opening
soon...He was evidently well-coached by Abelson, and even invoked
Religious Bigotry! Yep, he actually said that in reference to Fair Game
and the cult's unfortunate TR-Ls and attitude toward the truth versus
Acceptable Truth.
At one point, he tried to compare the negative attitude towards the
Shiite Muslims and Scientology. Yeah, *some* Shiites have committed
terrible acts of terrorism in the name of Allah. However, nowhere in the
Koran is it written that it's okay to bomb your enemies, these are the
acts of a few fanatics. (see where Schwarz was going here?)
What Schwarz neglected to mention was that Scientology DOES have written
instructions by Source outlining how enemies can be tricked, lied to,
and utterly destroyed. Trying to imply that any illegal acts by
Scientologists in no way reflects upon the organization as a whole is
fatuous considering the body of evidence to the contrary, all written by
Hubbard, and all unchangeable.
The issue of Fair Game...heh. That judge is a cagey fellow! If religion
isn't brought up, fair game can't be brought up. How amusing! What ever
will the mollusca class do?
Well, I can't get into this technical stuff, but I can tell you Abelson
was twitching. His hand seemed to have a mind of its own, constantly
clutching, tapping, twiddling...his fat little fingers never were still.
I, on the other hand, was a puddle of calm in the ferocious currents of
litigation.
Outside the courtroom, Ida was engaged in conversation with a
darkskinned woman who could have been Latino, but with obviously dyed
dead black hair. Strangely, this same woman followe our French friend
after she left Ida's house. Coincidence?
Naaah! Ya think?
Charmee (sp?) had her own taste of the cult tentacle after she left
Ida's for her motel at around 10:30 pm. She was picked up by two cars
near the freeway onramp. She noticed them because there were these two
cars, no lights, parked in an area that's nothing but fields. The
freeway was empty, and as she was going up the ramp, she noticed the
cars were gone. That's because they were behind her. One got in front,
one behind. She pulled over, and the first car continued on, while the
other car pulled over behind her. She blasted out of there and took an
exit, pulled a few didoes. Lost the car, it was pulled over by the
police for running a red light. She was on the phone to us the whole
time, and made it back to her motel without further incident.
At around 3 a.m., a car pulled into Ida's driveway, triggering the
security light. It pulled out again. Why do I know? I was sleeping in
the living room, and I always sleep poorly in a new place.
All in all, it was an interesting weekend! We had some great food, good
conversation, and Keith and I swapped Marcab recipes. The one featuring
crepes and grottles was most intriguing. I'll definately have to try it
next time I'm on the homeworld.
This is true,
