The Threat against Free Speach - the Scientologists
A lonely man is walking around with his picketsign outside a
number of Scientology Churches in the United States.
He demonstrates against how neglect and confinement within the
Scientologsts "Mecka" at Flag in Clearwater during isolation
for a couple of weeks, finally ended the life for the 37 year
old Lisa McPhearson. Lisa had tried to escape but failed, and
was brought back by her former Scientology friends whom treated
her in accordance with the written directives by L. Ron Hubbard
in the "Instrospection Rundown".
Keith Henson from Palo Alto, was also one among the many Internet
users who became upset when the Scientologists tried to stop
free speach on Internet by censor Usenet in an attempt to cancel
out the newsgroup alt.religion.scientology in 1995.
The Scientologists thinks that this man, Keith Henson 58, is
such a serious threat to them that he now is accused of terrorism,
attempted terrorism and religious interference.
It was when he was walking the road carrying his picket sign,
300 yards from the highly guarded and razor blade sharped fence
which is surrounding Golden Era Productions at Gilman Hot Springs
in California, that the Scientologists felt especially disturbed
and reported him to the police. Gold is the headquarters for
the very elite in the Scientological hierarchy. Inside the fence
are armed guards patroling around the clock.
They thought he had interfered with their religious practice
when he protested that additionally two young women had died
last year when they were employed by Golden Era Productions.
He felt that the deaths had not been thoroughly looked into,
and he wanted to make the Scientologists responsible for them.
The women was Ashlee Shaner 16, and Stacy Moxon 20 years old.
A couple of days ago, the trial started against Keith Henson
in Hemet.
Perhaps the most remarkable in this case is that Henson had
tried to quote Hubbard in one of his posts to the newsgroup
alt.religion.scientology. He had used the words "destroy them
utterly" which are coming from:
"A Manual on the Dissemination of Material" (1955)
"Harass and discourage rather than win. The law can be used
very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who
is simply on the thin edge anyway, will knowing that he is not
authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause his professional
decease. If possible, of course, ruin him utterly." --- L. Ron
Hubbard
The Church of Scientologys' attorney, Elliot Abelson denied
Henson his right to explain the background to his many lonely
pickets and he also denied him the right to tell that the devastating
quote was taken from the Scientology scriptures.
And the judge did what the attorney said.
This way, the jury had no chance to form a fair idea about the
case and the background of the indictments.
Henson was yesterday sentenced for one of the indictments, "interference
with religious practice", which might give Henson up to one
year in jail. The other two indictments are hung when this is
written.
