--- Howard W. Henson Lt. Col. Howard W. Henson, 91, died May 19, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott. He was born September 24, 1909, in Deming, Territory of New Mexico, to Henry and Hulda (Schneekloth) Henson. He married Pauline Hudgens on July 21, 1936, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Lt. Col. Henson served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded a Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit medals during his Army career. He retired after 25 years of service and moved to Prescott in 1958. He spent over two years building the family home on the south side of Indian Hill. Henson was a member of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ. Also, he was a member of the Sharlot Hall Museum and served as president of the museum board for two terms. He was a volunteer with the Yavapai County Jeep Posse. He enjoyed photography, was a member of the local camera club, and had several of his pictures published in Arizona Highways. He enjoyed traveling, historical research, and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Pauline Henson, sons, Keith Henson of Palo Alto, California, and Kenneth Henson of Prescott, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Hampton Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.
