I have no idea. From what I hear, they dumped a copy of this on the doorstep of the house in Palo Alto, and tried to serve my wife by walking into the back yard by the sign, which says for scientologists to keep out. Besides the one in the mail, they had a "sheriff" (process server in Canada) come by this morning. Gregg had done a bit of research on the subject and told her what she was doing, acting as an agent for scientology, was likely criminal harassment of a refugee. It seems that personally serving or using an agent to serve legal threats of this sort in an attempt to force a political refugee back to the persecuting country of origin is a fairly serious offence here. (They can serve his immigration lawyer though.) Since my fleeing to Canada is mentioned in the body of the complaint, Gilbert Y. Vishino, the Hemet lawyer RTC/scientology is using for a fig leaf, might be in trouble if he ever comes here as a tourist. He should get RTC to pay for a Canadian lawyer to get him out of the trouble he is in here for acting as an agent of what the Canadians consider organized crime. Speaking of fig leafs, I mentioned the mailed copy came out of Los Angeles rather than Hemet. That is not all. Rosen/Paul Hastings has given me powerful evidence they were directing the latest persecution against me by attaching two of Samuel Rosen's letters dated Aug. 9 to the complaint! One is to CIS about a case not yet filed (may be against the LMT) and one is to Dan Leipold about a deposition in the notorious Lopez case. (Scanned letters attached) I am turning over the stapled originals to my immigration lawyer who is just fascinated by the continuing organized persecution of a person (me) who is under the protection of the Canadian government. He has never seen anything like it. The entire Paul Hastings firm may be in trouble here in Canada, not just for what they did, but also for trying to hide it by using a Hemet lawyer as a patsy. Dear Neil: Although I have not yet seen the decision, I am told that on August 7, a California Court of Appeal issued a decision in a case, in which the defendant is Pavlovich, upholding jurisdiction over him, an out of state student, for operating a web site that allowed users to pirate films. Apparently the Court's key holding is that Pavlovich "knew or should have known" that his web activities could injure the California plaintiff and therefore upheld a personal jurisdiction over him on claims of trade secret theft and copyright infringement. We obviously need to study this decision, but if it is as cracked up to be in the report, this is the one which would be very important both to the captioned case as well as to a lot of the domain name disputes that we deal with daily.
