A year or more before the LMT was opened, Bob and his crew were having their every footstep dogged and every move anticipated by the scientologists. Bob, largely because he could hire top people, had a PI firm check out the situation, which he thought might be telephone taps. The PI firm told Bob that in their experience it was usually an agent run in on them. After expending a lot of money even by Bob's standards the PI firm built a solid case that the former highly trusted CAN person was an agent. There was a great deal of resentment toward Bob by certain parties in both the delayed announcement of this situation and in the way in which it was done. I was involved in some minor wrap up work that obtained photographs of the former CAN person under a real name. While most of the CAN people found the evidence persuasive and painfully accepted the situation, a very few of the top former CAN people have stated that no amount of evidenced will ever convince them that they had a spy inside their tent.
