Sorry if you read it that way. My object in mentioning the Internet was mostly to remind the good judge that she is operating in a fishbowl--even more so than the normal situation for the courts.

Also sorry that I can't post all I know. Some of it is really news worthy, for example the story relating to what scientology did to a certain Senator and his staff. I would love to talk to law enforcement about a number of things, but none of them are the slightest bit willing to "lift the tail of the skunk."

This may be changing, but for decades the FBI has been much worse than useless. Local law enforcement figured the FBI was the agency to investigate jurisdiction crossing crimes by cults and vectored people to make complaints to the FBI--which turned out to have a policy that they would not investigate "religions," even if the "religion" got that status through outright extortion of the IRS.

So scientology could get away with virtually any kind of crime. As long as they crossed jurisdictional lines, local law enforcement said it was out of their hands and the FBI would not touch them.

In inhibiting local law enforcement from acting FBI has been much worse than useless. Eventually this will be as another black eye to the FBI like the decades J. Edgar Hoover stalled action on organized crime when he was being blackmailed for being gay by the Mafia. (See Official and Confidential: The Secret LIfe of J. Or the more recent case where headquarters stalled investigation of a case until after Sept. 11.
