Dear Governor Davis:

I don't imagine you get very many letters from refugees *from* California. However, I am one, having escaped "justice" in Riverside county from a court and DA so highly influenced by the Scientology cult that "corrupted" might be a better term.

I am not going into details here since you can get them at www.operatingthetan.com.

My reason for writing is to urge you to sign SB 1796, the "political expression protection act." It will have no effect on my case, but I do think people should be permitted to protest a cult killing young women (two in the first half of 2000) and not be sentenced to a year in jail with a fairly high probability of being killed in a jail under the cult's influence.

I am fairly sure you would prefer that California be considered a place of refuge instead of a corrupt third world kind of place a person has to escape from.
