A couple of details about the day that Lisa McPherson was driven to the
hospital and pronounced dead have always bothered me. It has been
repeatedly cited that there was a hospital much closer than the one
where she was taken, where there was a $cientologist doctor on staff. I
have read anything from 20 to 40 minutes as a travel time from the Ft.
Harrison to that hospital.
The hospital where she was taken is called Bayonet Pointe. This
hospital is located in Hudson, FL. On most days in normal traffic, it
takes me about 40 minutes to get there from the Clearwater area, so that
estimate is more or less accurate.
Yesterday, I was on Ft. Harrison right in front of Morton Plant
Hospital, the closest hospital to $cientology's "spiritual
headquarters." I could actually see $cientology's Ft. Harrison Hotel
building from the street in front of the hospital. I could also see
their new building under construction.
Perhaps this is lost on those reading this newsgroup that do not live
here in the shadow of the cult, or maybe not... and I also realize it
has been said before... but...
There was a highly qualified hospital within sight of the Ft. Harrison.
There were other hospitals closer than Bayonet Pointe. Lisa was
obviously deathly ill, so if one were truly concerned for her welfare
why was she not rushed to Morton Plant hospital just a few blocks from
the Ft. Harrison?

wonderful. That would be, could be, the palest imagined shadow of what a

no remedy in existence." -L. Ron Hubbard PDC Lecture #20
